Can you detach the aerator from the stand, if you do not always want to use the stand? Also, do they require a filter that needs to be changed?
Jenny on Dec 17, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can detach. In fact, there is a holder designed, specifically for that purpose, providing a no drip, and safe for all surfaces. I choose to keep the aerator in the stand, due to its beauty, & for immediate usage. The stand also provides an area for drip. Technically, there is no filter, but a thimble-like size basket for catch all. Jenny, my husband is the most difficult to buy for. He should be a spokesperson for the Vinturi Deluxe Aerator Gift Set. He uses it every single day, and is so excited about its functionality, he continues to show me how it is done. You won't be disappointed.
What is the difference between red wine aerator and white wine aerator? Can you use the red wine aerator to aerate white wine?
kal on Nov 30, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The red wine aerator has a screen for sediment. You can use the red aerator for white if you have cleaned it really well after each use. It would be best longterm to buy the white and red aerator so you have one for each.
Are the white and red aerators interchangeable within the same tower?
John on Oct 30, 2011
what is the difference between this aerator and a spirits Aerator? can this be used for both?
Craig on Dec 5, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your inquiry. Difference would be the size of the aerator as well as potential taste that could build up in the unit. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to us at 800 356 8466. Best.
My filter screen ended up in the disposal. Can I buy replacement screen filters?
Bexar on Nov 29, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I bought a little packet of filters. The cool part about that, you can put one in a gift pack for friends because we all need a new filter eventually.

Perfect Gift
I purchased this as a birthday present for my husband after we were offered its use at a local upscale restaurant when the wine we brought with us corked. We have a hand held one in our home bar that we never used but this was sleek, stylish, and so convenient to use and it takes up very little space while looking great displayed out. Because of that, we use it several times a week when we open wine from our cellar. What a great product and design. We love it!

What a difference in taste.
I highly recommend trying a glass of wine before and after airation. Every time we have used the Vinturi we were amazed.

I have been using the Vinturi for over one year and it does make a difference!

Need to be careful in the proccedure and dominate the right speed of the flow to prevent spills.

Nice twice!
I own this product and sent this gift set to my sister for her birthday. She caters at the Kennedy Library in Boston.
The leak could probably be avoided by using a slightly more pronounced angle.
Bet winning at your wine tasting party
Most people would not believe this would make a difference (do an eye closing taste-test...before and after samples) For those who are on a budget, it will make a freshly opened $7-$10 bottle of Cabernet taste like a $15-$20 bottle, a $15-$20 bottle like a $30-$40 bottle and so forth, . This quickly 'opens' and 'breathes' a bottle per glass-full without having to open several bottles early in an evening that may not be consumed and therefore diminish in quality if not consumed within 24 hr. Lastly, it is quite lavish for demonstration purposes...just pour slow into the aerator and raise the glass close to the bottom of the aerator so that it does not splash. You will look like a pro. Rinse and wipe with cotton cloth (not paper towel as they will scratch the plexiglass) in-between times.

Very cool
We've had ours for many years. Everyone who sees it loves it. We've given several as gifts and the recipients love them.

Ok, but really doesn't do much
My girlfriend loves it, but frankly I don't think it does anything. Just leave the wine bottle open for a few minutes and it's exactly the same (without the funny filtering noise).

Effective but messy
The aerator itself does its job well by putting air in the wine which I personally find helps to liberate the wine's flavor.

The product does, however, require a careful slow pour because the intake is small. When in the stand, wine flowing through the aerator tends to leak out the air intake holes, which then runs down the elegant stem and onto both the base and counter. It can be a mess that you will have to live with to enjoy aerated wine.

Oh yes it is beautiful, but watch out!!
Of course it is used to aerate wine which it does well. But the vinturi leaks at the holes and beware of the gift set containing the stand. If you are using short glasses then the wine will be all over the place. Just the vinturi would have been sufficient.
