What is the temperature inside the cargo hold of airlines? Will the foam inserts protect the wine from extreme variations in temperatures when traveling?
Peter S on May 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The Vino-Voyage TSA-Approved Wine Suitcase foam inserts are designed specifically to protect your wine from breaking rather than temperature changes. I believe cargo holds are generally about 45 degrees but you should check with your airline regarding this.
What is the weight when full?
Doreen W on May 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: With the typical case of wine weighing in at 42lb, it's tough to assume a 13lb suitcase can come in at 50lb...42+13=55 (and see your first review below - it's over 50lb when full)
How does this compare to the other 12 bottle suitcase you sell?
Marissa R on Apr 23, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The Vino-Voyage TSA-Approved Wine Suitcase is a well built, durable, TSA approved suitcase. It is designed to safely transport up to a case of wine from one place to another.
Does this come in a smaller size which would hold 6 bottles instead of 12?
Peter S on May 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The Vino-Voyage TSA-Approved Wine Suitcase currently comes just in one size.
Is this considered hands on luggage?!
Renata on Apr 25, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The Vino-Voyage TSA-Approved Wine Suitcase is specifically designed as checked luggage and not as a carry on item.
Will it accommodate the extended length German and Alsatian bottles?
Scott C on May 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The Vino-Voyage TSA-Approved Wine Suitcase inserts can accommodate a bottle which is 13 inches tall and 3 inches wide (at its widest point).
This is not a question but rather some information regarding TSA guidelines for checked baggage with alcohol. Alcoholic beverages with more than 79% alcohol content (140 proof) including 95% grain alcohol and 150 proof run, cannot be packed in checked luggage. Travelers may take up to five liters of alcohol with alcohol content between 24% and 70% per person as checked luggage if it's packaged in a sealable bottle or flask. Alcoholic beverages with less than 24% alcohol content are not subject to hazardous materials regulations. just want to inform people that they could get some wines or other alcohol taken away by TSA if these guidelines are not followed. ! ?

This bag must be checked in I assume. Right? The TSA approved got me a bit confused.
Evster on Apr 6, 2019
BEST ANSWER: Yes. Definitely needs to be checked. Even if it doesnt have liquids in it, it is far too large to carry on.
Traveling with wine internationally to Australia....the heat on the tarmac before handlers store in the aircraft? How to combat this? Some wines I have previously transported have definitely been exposed to heat....please help
Billie James
Billie J on Jun 17, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The Vino-Voyage TSA-Approved Wine Suitcase will keep your wine safe while traveling. The wine will stay cool in the cargo area on the plane but as far as baggage handlers go, I'm not sure what to recommend other than some ice packs in the suitcase to try and maintain a lower temperature once the suitcase is exposed to hotter temperatures.
Is there any way to pack any clothes in it?
RVT710 on May 7, 2018
BEST ANSWER: The Vino-Voyage TSA-Approved Wine Suitcase can definitely be used for clothing and wine as the inserts are removable.

Travels great
First time use and it worked great. The only problem is that 12 bottles of wine weighted 53 pounds which cost me $75 for being over 50 pounds on Southwest Airlines.

A nice way to transfer wine, quality is fair
Fitting 12 bottles in there is tight and the construction is not that great. Zippers tore and broke first tine using it.

Could be more rugged
Suitcase is great as far as protection for the bottles inside, but one of the feet on the side tore off on the first use.

So far so good
We are on our first trip with the wine suitcase. So far it has been very convenient. We brought several bottles to family and will return home with several. I love the TSA lock. I am concerned about durability over time. It takes some effort to place bottles in it, and it is a tight squeeze for them.which is good. But I wonder how durable the packing material is with continued usage. We shall see.

First time-12 bottles traveled in style
Got my suitcase and packed 12 bottles from our trip BOSTON-jfk-Anguilla and all arrived safely ready for consumption. Good value for the suitcase and allowed us to have great wine at restaurants for just a corkage fee

Had no problems on first use
Suitcase worked great and unlike previous reviewers, I did not experience any problems with roller or zipper breakdown. We shall see if that lasts. Tight fit for 12 bottles and had to change some wines I was planning to ship because of bottle size constraints. Overall I am extremely pleased with the performance.

Excellent way to travel with wine
My husband loves his new wine luggage suitcase. In the past we traveled with a box of wine which was very difficult to handle at the airports. This makes is so much easier plus we can return with something we can use to hold luggage or more wine or whatever!

Smooth sailing or flying!
Was able to pack 10 bottles of wine, 1 bottle of champagne and a liter of tequila on a 10-day trip. all intact, not a drop spilled with checked baggage. TSA opened it up and did not take a thing! LOL. Rolled smooth and can hold all but the most oversize bottles. Definitely a good buy!

Perfect gift for a wine lover
Bought this as a birthday gift for my brother who owns a wine bar and is always traveling with wine from overseas. Decided I needed one for myself also!
