Haw to wash a wine cleaner?

BEST ANSWER: I just rinse it in clean water. Soap could dry out the rubber. Have had no problems with taste going from Red to white wine. It is a great piece of equipment, we have given it to friends as a gift. The best wine saver we have found, and easy maintenance.
I like to store open wine back in chiller on it's side. Has anyone had problem with leaking?

BEST ANSWER: The Vacu Vin Concerto Wine Saver System (1 pump & 4 Stoppers) should be fine to use on a bottle that you lay down as long as you seal the bottle correctly.
How long will this preserve the wine? How many days?

great product
Prevents wine from leaking when on side

Works as advertised.
My wife and I like to have a glass of wine (or two) with dinner each night, but our tastes are very different. So a wine that gets opened one night might not be finished until two nights later, by which time it was a mere shadow of itself.

The Vacu Vin system definitely helps to extend the life of a good bottle those two days, and Wednesday's wine is all but as good as it was when opened on Monday, rather than tasting grossly inferior. That's all I wanted this system to accomplish, so I haven't tried any extended trials - I'll leave that to others.

The stoppers work well, with no leaks to date, but are easily taken apart to clean. The pump's handle looks a bit strange, but actually fits the hand well, and easily draws a vacuum on even a mostly-empty bottle. We're very satisfied.

A wonderful product - simple and easy to use, works as advertised, durable, portable and well worth the investment - not exactly a trendy product, but entirely practical and a worthwhile investment, especially when you consider how much is invested in drinking and storing wine.

Perfect for Preserving Opened Wine
It couldn't be easier to save that leftover wine to consume later! This product is easy to use! Place the stopper in the bottle and press the vacuum pump up and down until you hear the "click"! It's that simple! AND....it works! Wine tastes every bit the same as it did when the bottle was first opened. No more wasting that great bottle of wine! So pleased with my purchase! Really nice for the single person who hesitate to open a bottle to enjoy just one glass of wine...now you can! Reasonably priced, easy to use and to clean....what more could I ask for? A great gift item that is ALWAYS appreciated!

Significantly Improved Design
This is my first exposure to the redesigned VacuVin, having used the original model for many years. I find the new design superior, particularly the stoppers. The one-way "lips" valve on the old stoppers would relax and give way after a period of time, allowing the air back into the bottle (especially for longer-stoppered items like spirits or fortified wines); the new design uses the pressure from the bottle seal to keep the air in - seems to hold a lot longer. The click indicator on the pump to announce adequate evacuation (pressure differential) is cute, if not entirely necessary. The stoppers separate into 2 pieces for cleaning, and must be pressed back together (requires practice) after drying - kind of a pain. Overall, impressive design effort for significantly improved performance.
