Enjoy Summer’s Magical Moments with Ferrari-Carano Wines

In the carefree summer months when our social lives move outdoors, there is no better time to enjoy Ferrari-Carano’s carefully crafted, acclaimed, chilled white and rosé wines. With over 40 years of winemaking experience and a heritage rooted in Italian traditions of hospitality, wine and food, Ferrari-Carano is one of Sonoma County’s most revered wine estates.

Chardonnay – A Perfect Picnic Pairing
Ferrari-Carano wines have always been intrinsically tied to life’s most memorable moments, big and small, so when a field of grass and a blanket become the dinner table, pair your picnic fare with Chardonnay from Sonoma County. With Meyer lemon, lush vanilla, caramel apple, and delicious baking spice notes, this wine is a beautiful pairing with creamy cheeses or that picnic basket favorite, chicken salad.

Pinot Grigio + Backyard BBQs
One sip of Ferrari-Carano’s Pinot Grigio—another native Italian grape— is the perfect crowd-pleaser at your next backyard gathering. Perfect as a crisp aperitif wine with its tropical and citrus fruit qualities, or a scintillating pairing with salads and grilled fish.

Rosé & Summer Sunset Nights
The Dry Sangiovese Rosé is a nod to Ferrari-Carano’s Italian heritage. This Tuscan variety brings its trademark bright fruit and acidity to this elegant rosé, a  wine you’ll want in your glass as you watch one of the summer’s glorious sunsets: match the sky’s rosy beauty with the pink wine, filled with strawberry, orange blossom, and raspberry notes—in your glass.

Beach Going Fumé Blanc
Fumé Blanc, otherwise known as Sauvignon Blanc, is one of the first two wines Ferrari-Carano ever produced, and to this day remains a favorite of wine lovers everywhere. The white peach, citrus notes and savory minerality of this wine are  a perfect partner for boat rides or lazy days lounging on the beach. Fumé Blanc is a white wine that is guaranteed to become one you reach for again and again.

Sustainability
Ferrari-Carano farms vineyards in premier AVAs throughout Sonoma County. The differences in terroir create fruit with a wide range of character and offer endless opportunities when it comes to producing expressive wines. Taking the role of stewards of the land very seriously, all the vineyards are certified sustainable. Sustainable farming not only results in healthier grapes—and ultimately, more dynamic wines—but preserves the land for generations to come.

Women Winemaking Team
While vineyards play a vital role in creating delectable wines, they are only half the story: the people behind the wines are the other half. They turn the vision of refreshing and enticing wines into reality. Executive Winemaker Sarah Quider, who has been with the winery for over 20 years, intimately knows the ins and outs of each vineyard. Armed with this knowledge, she and her team coax out the best qualities of each site for Ferrari-Carano’s signature fresh and balanced style of wines. Sarah and her predominately female winemaking team have been collaborating for many years, which is a true testament to the respect Ferrari-Carano pays to its wines and its people.

History
After falling in love with the beauty of Northern California in the late 1970s, founders Don and Rhonda Carano purchased a 60-acre plot of land in Alexander Valley. Enchanted by the vines on the property, they began their journey into winemaking, eventually buying land in Dry Creek Valley, which now serves as the heart of the estate.
