O series. What style to use for Granache?
Brian on Jan 29, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Great question! I would use the Syrah style Riedel O glass for Grenache/Granacha....particularly as these are the two main grapes in the Red Rhone blends. Here is the link if you would like to check them out.
Thank you.

Fine, Sturdy, Sensuous.
I first experienced a Riedel stemless wine glass while wine-tasting on the "Central Coast" of California ("Sideways" territory). I fell in love with it. It was delicate and lightweight to the touch, but made of sturdy, lead-free crystal. The stemless design puts one in intimate, sensuous contact with the glass -- and the wine contained in it. I love the different glass designs for each type of wine. My collection, so far, includes 5 types of wine glass. I use them for any and all occasions, from formal to informal.

O wine glasses
Fits well in the hand. Feels more stable than a stemmed glass, especially when having a nice pinot with a slice of pizza in front of the TV (yes, it happens occasionally!)

very nice glasses
Bought a set of these glasses for the lighter reds I drink casually -- the shape does make the most of the wine's aroma, color and flavors. They are a bit big around for someone with small hands, but otherwise are excellent. Very nice that this quality of crystal can go in the dishwasher, but I keep them away from heavier objects, as they do feel delicate.

stemless wine glass
Beautiful & stylish glasses. They would make a wonderful gift.
Do not put in the dishwasher. I put two in and 1 was broken but they are very easy to hand wash.

Quality at a good price
Correct shape and size with good quality. No lead. The base of the tumbler (has no stem) is a bit large for smaller hands making it a little difficult to grasp and swirl.

Beautiful but feel fragile
Beautiful design, but wife says they are hard to hold with her small hands, and they do feel thin and fragile, but not sure if they are actually fragile, or if this is just perception. We use them almost daily with no attrition so far! (We also hand wash them just to be safe.) We use them for all red wines, not just Burgundy. Wine seems to breath nicely when in the glass, and again they are unique and very attractive.

Go everyday glass; difficult to hold
Attractive, large glass that is dishwasher safe. The only drawback is that it is awkward to hold.

Elegant glasses
I have the same opinion of this product as most of the other reviewers--gorgeous glass and the Reidel quality that you are used to--however, the glass is VERY thin and delicate. I would never consider putting them in the dishwasher, as they'd surely break. We were looking for stemless glasses to avoid the knock-it-over accidents that plague our household and these definitely fit the bill. Strangely, the glass near the lip is thinner than the stemmed Riedels I own, but despite the delicate nature of the glass, I'd still buy them again--they are that good at opening up the wine.

This saved my shirts and reputation
I was the notorious bumper, spiller, wine splasher at parties and sometimes knock the glass over kind of guy - but no more! Function meets design perfectly in this cool wine glass - a perfect pairing indeed!
