Costières de Nîmes

About Costières de Nîmes

What was formerly a Languedoc appellation prior to 2004 is now officially a sub appellation of the southern Rhône. Like most southern Rhône wines, the main red varieties used in production are Grenache, Syrah, Mouvèdre, Cinsault and Carignan, while the whites are predominantly blends of Grenache Blanc, Marsanne and Roussanne. In looking through our Costières de Nîmes Wine Reviews, the reds are fresh and elegant with red fruit, blackberry and black cherry characteristics; the whites tend to lean towards citrus and white flowers; and the rosés express themselves with delicate yet vivacious red fruit.
