Overview

Description
Share a fun, engaging activity with friends and family with this rustic axe throwing target set.  Simply set up the board and easel in the desired area and you’re ready to throw! * The easel and board are secured together with a French cleat for stability so you can play with confidence. Easy to set up and disassemble, it’s a great companion to bring to outdoor activities, from weekend camping to backyard barbeques.

Axe Board Assembly
Once removed from box, set the tripod in the desired location and extend the legs to their fully open position. The tripod and the board are equipped with a French cleat. Simply place the backside of the board on the receiving end of the cleat and center it.

*Play Responsibly
Safety is first in mind with everything we do at Wine Enthusiast. Please carefully read and understand everything below, our safety rules and how to play to have a safe and enjoyable Axe Throwing experience. Please be aware that any violation of our safety policies or other unsafe behavior may result in serious injury or death.

Ensure that the board setup is in a safe location, 12 feet from the target and far away from anyone, any pets or anything that could be hit by an errant throw. Participants need to be aware of the target and surrounding areas. An axe should only be thrown by the handle and a responsible adult should always be present for supervision to ensure safe game play. DO NOT TRY TO CATCH AN AXE! If an axe bounces back from a target, quickly step backward and to the side.

Safety Policy
  • Closed-toed shoes are required to throw. (No loose clothing, hoodies, or brimmed hats. High heels are prohibited.)
  • Follow ALL the directions/instructions provided on how to play and safely.
  • Never enter the throwing area without permission.
  • Never cross the throwing lines without approval.
  • Never throw until both participants in your area are behind the throwing line.
  • Never leave the throwing area with an axe.
  • No alcoholic beverages.
  • No roughhousing or horseplay.
  • Our insurance prohibits you from adding other axes to the set or any other throwing implements.

Game Play

Scoring
5 points for the bullseye. 3, 2 or 1 points for the successive circles moving out from the bullseye. If either end of the axe sticks in the board, then it counts.

If the axe is in 2 rings simultaneously, then the thrower is awarded the points for the higher value ring — so long as the axe is touching the higher value ring. The axe must remain in the target for the throw to count. If it falls out, then the throw will be awarded zero points. No delayed throwing. In other words, a player cannot delay throwing in hopes that the opponent's axe falls out.

Head-To-Head Match
12 throws each per match.

Each player will take 3 throws on their turn. The highest score after each player throws 12 times wins the match.

In the event of a tie after 12 throws, the match goes to sudden death. Each player gets 3 more throws, and the highest score wins. If still tied, then each player gets 2 more throws. If still tied, then each player gets 1 throw until someone scores higher to take the win.

There are many other variations of axe games that can be played. Get creative or look some up online! But remember, safety first.
