The Cuba Libre was created in 1900 to celebrate the Cubans’ courageously gaining independence. To toast their freedom, the cocktail was named after the event—Cuba Libre. It’s traditionally made with Bacardi Gold Rum, cola and a squeeze of fresh lime, but tastes equally great with Bacardi Superior Rum.

Ingredients

1 part Bacardi Gold Rum
3 parts cola
2 lime wedges

Directions

In a cocktail class filled with ice, squeeze 1 lime wedge and drop it in. Pour in the rum and cola, and garnish with the other lime wedge.
