BEST ANSWER: The type of closure is irrelevant. The wine tap stopper/valve unit goes in the bottle after you take the cork or cap off.
Does the gas cannister fit inside the base (hidden) or does it stand separately?

once opened and filled with nitrogen, can the bottle be disconnected from the canister (with spigot still in), stored in the refrigerator, and then reconnected?

BEST ANSWER: The NitroTap Wine Service & Preservation System is most effective when a wine bottle stays attached to the unit. If you decide to disconnect your bottle, even with keeping the spigot attached, you will comprise the life wine as it will no longer be pressurized.
Does it work with sparkline wine?

Does the system have governors as to not over pour?

Economical and it saves bottles for an extended period of time with no degredation of the open wine bottle.
