I have a space that is 27"w x 12" deep x 28" h

Can I buy several of the 12 bottle racks and connect them to fit the space?

If so, how many do I need?

Michael on Oct 31, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can combine them in any way possible, just like an old style Erector set. I my case I went up a basement wall at 4 units wide then expanded to 6 units at the foundation line and later went to 3 units to go around overhead piping. They are very versatile and easy to work with. The only thing to watch for is where the description says "For measuring purposes: Multiply 4" by the number of openings across or vertically and add 1-3/8" to the total of each." this is true IF YOU SET THEM IN TIGHTLY! Use a light mallet or clamp otherwise the measurements tend to drift open on you. I set mine with a drop of glue on the dowels over two years ago and they are still solid. My overall rack holds 9 cases, stands 7' high and is used constantly. I really love the convenience that it provides for selecting bottles (and it was fun to build).
Will it fit in a cube shelf measuring 15"D, 13.25"W, 13.25"H?
Anna E on May 15, 2016

For measuring purposes: Multiply 4" by the number of openings across or vertically and add 1-3/8" to the total of each.
I have an 8 1/2"w x 11"d x 30"l open cabinet. Would I be able to go vertical stacking 2 bottles at a time?
Vivian Timms on May 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: To go 2 bottles high you will need 9 3/8 High.
can you paint this...would it need to be stripped first?
karen f on Jun 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It's bare wood so could be primed and painted as is, maybe with a very light sanding.
But also the wood is clear, without knots, and very attractive on its own. Good luck.

I need a small rack that would fit best in an opening 25" wide (or smaller) and 19" (or less) high. Can you tell me if you have a set that would fit these measurements? Thank you.
Ken L on Sep 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have this rack in my converted radio console with a 14 inch opening, but left off the top level since the space was just 11 inches high. So it holds 9 bottles, the top rack would add another 4 inches filled so it should be fine in a 24 by 19 inch opening.
Will magnum (1.5L) bottles fit in this wine rack?
David on Aug 4, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The Modular racks will not accommodate magnums within the slits, but you can rest one on the top row only.

I have a small cabinet that measures 9×12 would this fit?
Millburner on Dec 27, 2016

I have a cabinet with 15.5"h x 10.5"w x 13.5"d openings. Is there some configuration of this rack that could be used? Can it be made shorter and wider by altering the way it's assembled? If not, is there another suggestion as to something that might work?
Marian on Feb 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: For measuring purposes: Multiply 4" by the number of openings across or vertically and add 1-3/8" to the total of each.

Sounds like you could have this 3 bottles high by 2 wide.
Cabinet size 14"x26" and 14" deep. How can I maximize the space for wine storage?
AJ the Builder on May 22, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Based on your dimensions, the rack would take up 13 3/8" x 25 3/8" using our formula of Multipling 4" by the number of openings across or vertically and add 1-3/8" to the total of each.

This would be 18 bottles. 3 x 6.
I have a small space above my fridge and beneath those fridge cabinets. Can you configure this to stretch out for about 35 inches for one layer of bottles and how tall would that be with the wine on top?
Yeah-Nancy-the-newbie on Sep 7, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thanks you for your question, yes on The Modular Rack you can configure them for 1 row across up to about 36" long. The height of the rack for the 1 row would be about 4-5" tall.
I have a cabinet that I am interested in inserting this rack into.. Just to be sure what is the overal width and height of the rack shown which will hold 12 bottles. The cabinet opening in question is 21.5 inches high by 19.75 inches wide by 12.5 inches deep.
Thanks. CHall
csh on Aug 26, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question. This unit is 100 percent modular. To calculate the dimension you will multiply the number of openings you want by 4 inches and add 1 3/8 to the total you come up with. For your space you can go 4 high by 4 wide if you want so the 12 bottle the way shown will work fine. Any other questions please call us at 800-377-3330.
Evaughn on May 6, 2012
BEST ANSWER: 13 1/2 " wide - 14 " high (this dimension does not include a bottle at the top )
How do you add to it? For example: an extra row or column.
null on Aug 10, 2011
BEST ANSWER: HI, yes you will be able to add to this rack. You would purchase a 2nd rack and the configuration can be added length wise or height wise as you need.
I have a number of the 12 bottle racks that I've put together and am missing some of the pegs that would let me complete the rack. Can you send me some pegs, need three of them?

Would purchase more of this.
I use this to store wine in a cooled room. I have no concern about the wine being comprised as the item is well built and sturdy. Utilizes little space.

3rd unit I've purchased to expand
I now have purchased a total of four 12 bottle kits to expand as our wine collection grew. Using inside a buffet in the dining room for hidden storage. Works well with both still and sparkling wine bottles.

Child's Play to Assemble
The versatility of this rack allowed me to build it to fit inside a cabinet. The openning would allow a nine bottle arrangement. I assembled it on the living room rug with a hammer and a scrap of 1" X 2" wood to protect the rack from hammer marks.

Works as expected
installed it inside a 15" deep cabinet so it's hidden. Expandable design

Strictly Bargain Basement
Strictly for hidden wine storage. The unit is easy to put together, but of very poor quality, i.e. rough unfinished wood, peg & hole sizes did not always match up. Not very secure. Should have gone with a more expensive model.

Difficult to assemble
For a 30 dollar price tag I expected for the wood to at least be cut well. What I got instead were inconsistent hole sizes. The instruction manual it comes with says that the pegs are left slightly larger so as to provide sturdiness, but I found that it made it very difficult to assembly as well as making it almost impossible to assemble straight.

Quite pleased
The wine rack was made of sturdy, quality wood. Assembly was actually fun - like playing with Tinker Toys.
