How many total bins come in the rack? the description says "Eack rack is only two bins high" but only two bins then? or is it 4 bins wide as shown in the picture (making it 8 total bins)?
Tito on Dec 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: 2 bins per rack, 1 wide and 2 high.
how many bottles does each bin hold?
Leann S on Dec 4, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I used the original wooden crates from my Bordeaux purchases - typical 12 bottles in each. Just as displayed in the photo. Not much room for anything else in the individual bin slots. Hope that helps.
i would like to use three across with a wooden top and use as a bench. Is it stable enough to hold one adult?
bill k on Apr 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I would think it is stable enough. I just went and looked at mine.... i stacked two on top of each other, then bolted a wood plank on top for a table. The metal crossbars are fairly strong, and I would think 3 side by side and secured by wood top would be pretty strong. Don't know how well it would handle lots of side to side jiggling with lots of weight though.
do you also sell the wooden crates? I see two opposite answers in your data base of FAQ. Thank you.
Ellen L on Sep 3, 2015
BEST ANSWER: When I buy cases of wine - particularly Bordeaux - you can typically ask for the original wooden crate or case (OWC) to be included instead of a cardboard box. This is typical for futures but sometimes retailers will also still have the crates. I bought the sliding racks because I got tired of unstacking cases to get to the bottom case to get a bottle. The racks are not quite as efficient for space but great to get at all your wines. Even Costco often has wooden cases in the wine area and I have gotten some there also. My best advise is to check with local retailers - you may get some for free. They may not be for you particular wine but if storage and usefulness is all you want they will work fine!
How many cases does each $99 rack hold?
T K on Jul 24, 2017
BEST ANSWER: Each rack is 2 bins high and holds two wooden boxes. A box is typically a case, or 12 bottles of wine. So usually 24 bottles.
We would like to stack them 5 racks high (= 10 bins). Is this recommended?
Lara B on Nov 26, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This could work if, in addition to securing the bottom racks to the floor, you could secure the backs of each row of racks to the back wall. You can attach the top of one row to the bottom of the row above, but that, all by itself, wouldn't be stable enough when you pull a drawer out with a heavy case on it.
where can you procure the wooden cases?
A shopper on Jul 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Ask you wine merchant to set aside some wood cases for you. If you order any high end wine [e,g, Classified Bordeaux, Gran Cru Burgundy] it will likely come in wooden cases. On problem is that increasingly I see wine shipped in 6 packs. This has been a great development for my back, but the shelf system works best with 12-bottle boxes. Still works with 6-bottle boxes, but it cuts storage space in half.
Love the system. Takes a bit of time to put together.
What would be the dimensions of the wine box that goes in the system?
Dana L on Aug 12, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The typical dimensions of 12 bottle OWCs of Bordeaux-style wine are 13" W x 7 1/2" H x 19 3/4" D.
6 bottle OWCs, often employed by Italian wineries, are typically 13" W x 7 1/2" H x 10 1/2 D. I can place two 6-bottle OWCs in a single bin, one in front of the other, although the rear OWC protrudes slightly out the back.
Magnums are another story. My 6-bottle OWC for magnums of Chateau LaFleur is 15 1/4" W x 9 1/2" H x 14" D. It will not slide into one of the bins, but it fits nicely on top of the top bin.
Will these racks hold typical Bordeaux cases with the wooden tops on or do the tops need to be removed?
Gregory on Jul 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: They will indeed hold Bordeaux cases with the wooden tops on.
I have purchased quite a few of these racks
Does this system have to be mounted to a wall?
jim c on Apr 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Mine are freestanding. I have a total of 6 units (each unit is 1 bin wide by 2 bins tall). They are configured such that the overall system is 3 bins wide and 4 bins tall. While the instructions did suggest they be secured to the floor or to the wall, mine seem very stable as they are.
If you anchored this could you stack 4 racks (i.e. 8 cases) high? Would the rack at the bottom support this? When they say remove lids, I presume this is just for ease of bottle access. It looks like there is plenty of room for the lids. Thank you.
Gregory on Mar 31, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I have mine 3 high (6 cases) and anchored the bottom to the floor and all to the stud in the wall. It is very stable when pulling out the top (although I don't do it much as I don't use the lids and just dig into the top case. Structurally I don't know how high you could go! Sorry, but that should be something that the designer should have specified - it does put a lot of weight on the frame of the lower rack! There is plenty of room for the lids but after having 10 cases stacked - the main reason I got these is easy access to the bottom case. Hope this helps a little.
Looking for storage under a wine bar, can you modify the shelves to have 3 bins high? Realizing the standard would be 2 / 4 / 6 as depicted in the pictures.
Keith on Aug 19, 2018
BEST ANSWER: You can't really modify the roll out shelving. I have 2 sets stacked side by side and 2 high. I currently have it set up with a piece of plywood. I'm intending to add a piece of granite or marble to it when I have my cellar built. It's just the right size to make a great tasting bar in my opinion.
do these racks come in finish other than black?
Mike M on Oct 23, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hi, the racks are only available in the black finish.
What are the actual exterior dimensions of a single rack (1 bin wide x 2 bins high)? I need to know how width, depth and height in inches, please. Thank you.
BlaineW on Jul 11, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I can't measure mine at the moment, but I am fairly certain that the exact measurements are noted in the "See More Product Details" drop-down. They fit nicely together and are very consistent in size. They are also very sturdy, so placement of a butcher block or other surface on the top won't be a problem. Hope this helps.
can you stack these bins on top of each other?
k on Oct 29, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Yes you can stack them 3 high free standing and higher if you secure them to the wall.
I really like this concept and the roll-out bins would fit the space I have -- big question: do you sell the wooden cases, as they are what "make" the look? Suggestions?
Sharon on Sep 17, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Yes we do sell wood cases , personalized and plain. Please call us at 800-356-8466 and a rep will assist you.
I have this system but i need to purchase only 24 of the bases with the rollers?
Ricardo on Oct 15, 2017
BEST ANSWER: I think you need to buy 12 racks. Each rack fits 2 boxes. They're not very big.

Michael on Aug 20, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The cost of the Eurocave Roll Out Bin is $99.95. Eack rack is only two bins high and do not includes wooden cases.
The catalogue shows a wood trim and the customer photo on the website shows a table top on the wine bins. Are these custom made or are these available accessories?
Bubbalj on May 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The table top in the customer photo is custom made. We can make custom table tops however you would also require a carpenter or contractor to install properly.
what is the maximum size crate that this will accept?
Dan on Jan 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: It accomodates the standard wood case.

Best Case Storage Racks
be sure to fully remove lids from any cases you are using. Otherwise you may have to take case out of rack to get at some bottles.

be sure to follow the requirements for anchoring racks solidly to prevent tipping of whole rack assembly and possible breakage of bottles. Especially anchor at the top.

Euro Cave Roll Out Bins Wine Rack
Like the product, I will order another one. However, it would have been nice having instructions on how to put it together in the box. The rack came without instructions

almost perfect
I ordered three. Items were backorderd but shipped as described in order summary. One of the three was damaged. Again, item backordered. If I ever receive them all, I will have added a nice storage system for cases. As suggested you must attach this item to a wall for stability.

A little Flimsy
The shelves are a little flimsy and the size of the opening does not hold some of the standard wooden boxes I have from a couple vinyards. The product is not for a high end cellar.

Too complicated
This is going back! I was hoping other reviews were too harsh, but I was wrong. The directions are more like a puzzle - I didn't even attempt to assemble it! No place online does it say that the bins need to be attached to the floor and the wall, which doesn't work for me

Great product, just what I wanted
This product was the perfect way for me to store my wine and display my boxes in a very usable fashion. I built a top for it that matches my bar and I am thrilled at the way it came together. I had a little difficulty at first assembling the units, but was able to overcome the issues and I am very satisfied with the way it came together. I purchased 4 units to hold 8 boxes. Great product for my use.

Excellent product and excellent value
Arrived speedily to my parents and the delivery folks were nice enough to put it in the garage for my mother so that she didn't have to lift them.
