Can you add additional shelves to the premier L near the bottom?
Scott on Nov 17, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, you can add three shelves at the bottom of the Premiere L unit to make a total of 13 moveable shelves. I personally prefer this approach to stacking bottles because I don’t buy more than a dozen of any one bottle and I don’t want to mix them up. You can fit another eleven standard bottles on the fixed shelf at the bottom of the unit.
Do you need a wine cooler with a humidifier like the wine cellars to keep wine for longer periods of time? If so what would you recommend
Sharon W on Aug 22, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Good morning. I personally have 5 Euro Cave wine coolers. If you're going to be aging some higher priced wines I would definitely recommend. The Euro Cave draws very little power and are quite economical to operate. If you decide to buy one, be sure you let it set 48 hours after delivery, moving it around before you plug it in. Also preload about 40% with wine before you turn it on, far less work on the compressor. Hope this helps. E J Golightly - Kentucky
Is it common for the cooler to change 3 degrees mine goes from 51.9 to 55 and back ?
Bert H on Sep 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi Bert, this is a great question. Yes, this is totally normal and completely safe for the wines. In fact, EuroCave wine cellars keep the tightest temperature gradient of any wine cellar out there. So a very small fluctuation from 2-4 degrees Fahrenheit is both normal and completely safe for all your wine storage. But if you have any questions at all on the function of your cellar please call our Technical Support line at 800-648-6058 x 2. Thank you.
Does the EuroCave Premiere model line offer humidity management capabilities?
Jonathan N on Aug 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The Premier L is engineered to create moisture however this model does not measure or monitor the humidity levels. The Pure and Revelation units come with a smarter control board that will measure and monitor the humidity. If the humidity drops under 50%,they also come standard with the hydro tray to add water.
Will the eurocave premier line work as a built in?
Jack W on Feb 6, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes it will work as a built in but you need to leave a couple of inches of space on the sides and 3-4 inches on top to allow for air circulation. There is a spacer in the back of unit that keeps it about 4 inches away from back wall as well. The exact recommendations are described in the literature or ask your sales consultant. I did this and it works fine.

I'm wondering how well the cellar with item # 23528013x would do in the event of a power outage...and for how long? Any idea of the R-rating of this unit etc.?
Dennis B on Jul 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Never tried this, but I would imagine that it might take at least 2 days to reach room temperature as a loaded unit is holding a mass of 4-500 pounds. Getting one with solid door would help hold temperature. Wine is like metallurgy and the aging process is a function of time at temperature. So short cycles should not create a problem. I would worry more about exposing it in a car trip in the summertime to 90-140 degree trunk temperatures than of it hitting 72 degrees for a few days. How long has the wine in the wine store been sitting on the shelf? On the other hand, if one has a prize wine collection, go underground or add standby energy storage or generation.
Is height 72 inches with feet?
Dee M on Dec 25, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't know. I would expect so. Note that they sent this note to a new customer. Call the sales people. The numbers are on the web site . They are quite helpful. Note, overall I am pleased with my unit.
Can this unit be built in? Like in a refrigerator enclosure. Does it vent from the front?
Tom N on Apr 3, 2019
BEST ANSWER: It does not vent from the front. I can be built in with adequate room allowed. There is information in the manual and I am sure the techs at Wine Enthusiast can help.
Which cellars have extended warranties available and what is the pricing?
Marianne B on Mar 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The Eurocaves have a 1 yr parts and labor and 5 yr compressor warranty. If you would like to extend the parts and labor you have 3 options. An extra year runs 249.95, and extra two years will run 299.95 and an extra 4 yrs to the parts and labor will run 349.95 currently.
How can I increase the humidity level in the Premier L Eurocave?
John P on Feb 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: To increase the humidity, one can add a shallow pan of water, or a damp sponge in the bottom. Eurocave all sells a humidity box that is used in some other models.
Hi, is this the same humidity control system as other units? How does this differ from the 259 unit? Thanks!
Chas M on Feb 8, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It has a single replaceable cartridge that is filled with charcoal, on the back wall near the top inside of the cellar. In the instructions it says to replace every year. It's sort of a manual way of maintaining a decent humidity. It's not user adjustable on the Premiere L.
What is the width with the door open?
Sheila B on Sep 16, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the width is just a bit less than 27", door open or closed. However you can swing the door farther open than the width of your cellar. It has the ability to open up almost parallel with the front of the unit (180 degrees of swing), but you only need to open it in line with the width of the cellar to be able to slide out the drawers.
I have a Eurocave, does it have an actual on/off switch? I believe it is a EuroCave "L" series. The reason why I ask is that it is not mine but a friend has asked me why it won't operate.... I looked all over the front but did not locate one. I don't want to empty all the bottles to pull it out to inspect the back unless there is promise that it will aid in our success. Thanks in advance ... btw .. the digital control panel has an alarm button, light switch button .. and up/down buttons.

Can I operate it in my basement where the temperature drops to 40F degrees in the Winter? Overall ambient temperature range is 40F~70F degrees
bill v on Apr 25, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Absolutely, these units can take temps of 32 -95 F and work fine.
The MDS literature says that each shelf holds 12 bottles; however, a couple of reviews say 10-11 per shelf. Is this an issue with the older shelves or the new MDS shelves? I am primarily a California Cab drinker. Can I store 12 bottles per rolling shelf? thanks

First Impressions
Arrived a couple of days ahead of schedule (excellent as I was about to leave on an extended trip and did not want to refrigerate my Tucson abode in my absence ) but the delivery crew had to be held accountable to take packaging away but would not take off the skid. The unit was loaded and came to temperature in about 12 hours. On the plus side, it makes little noise or vibration, and I checked the thermostat and humidity to confirm it was maintaining good metrics. The adjustable shelves work great and makes loading easy. Since I am 90% California reds, each shelf holds on average 11 bottles, but they are not touching each other and shelve rolls easily. Overall construction and quality very good and not like most of the Chinese stuff you find at the superstores. Door seal is very tight/tenacious and expect energy consumption to be low and temperature to be stable. When set at 55 degrees the unit cycles at 56.2 and runs for about 7 minutes. Wish the product had built in lighting as it would add atmosphere in wine closet. I think this product will compare favorably with my Viking unit. Would purchase the same unit again and am confident that I will get more than 15 years of service out of this. (Black/glass door)

Good unit but not perfect
I have about 100 bottles in this fridge and it seems pretty full to me . You can get about 10 bottles per shelf. Don't get too hung up on the capacity listed on the fridge . Just know that the one you buy much less capacity than stated. I don't think this is uncommon practice manufacturers.
very quiet but if you're planning on putting it in a room where you will be you will hear it
Very good quality and seems to be built well.
The rollout shelves are nice. I am considering buying the extra shelves as I do not buy too much bulk of any particular wine. This model has bulk storage on the bottom and one fixed shelf which doesn't work too well for me. I would rather have the rolling shelves. There is one shelf in the middle but does not pull out well. It is attached to some type of support that is not to be a result need to lift up in order to get the shelf out. When loaded with wine the shelf is heavy and hard to lift and get out .
Temperature control
I have it set at 51° and it seems to go between 50 and 53° . Temperature control does not seem that precise but that is fine by me . I do not plan on longer than five or six years and really just need this unit to be able to keep it at a reasonable temperature for decent storage
The unit is nice looking and has good finish but seems larger than I pictured. I have it in a dining room adjacent to my living room and it seems to dominate the room
No issues with this in the people who delivered did a good job

Overall I am very happy with this purchase. You will need to fool around the shelving configuration to meet your needs but that is a fairly easy workaround . I would recommend this model.

Not the worst, not the best
I own a small EuroCave unit 100 bottles for the past 5 years and I love it. I've had no trouble at all
I was under impressed with the Premiere L "White Glove Service". Maybe it's a location thing but all I got were movers.
After obeying all instructions ( wait 48 hours & setup on it's own circuit breaker) I filled the unit and set it at 56 degrees. The unit temperature fluctuates as much as 3 degrees plus and minus. I went through all the settings and while now it's better it still fluctuates by a degree and a half.
On the plus side the unit is very, very quiet. It looks great. It seals great . I like the quality of EuroCave and while I'm not overly concerned with the temperature fluctuation I'd like to see it adjusted like my older unit. Everything else works just like expected.

High quality and quiet
I purchased two of these and have them "semi" built in - they are in a recessed area with several inches clearance around them as recommended for ventilation. They fit well, seem to be well made, and work well. They are very quiet which is important as they are next to our TV room. Rolling shelves are nice - they provide solid support for the wine (not sliding and rolling as when they are stacked on flat shelves) and provide easy access. As other reviewers mentioned, they require some adjustment for larger bottles and hold fewer of them, but I didn't find that to be a problem.

Note that frames of the doors extend slightly past the outside shell of the fridge, so two fridges cannot be butted tightly against each other. In addition, the handles to open the doors are recessed in the outside of the door frames - they require an inch or two of clearance so you can open the door, unless you open them from the top which requires reaching up and puts a twisting strain on the door. I would have preferred being able to butt them together and have a handle on the front of the door, but not a big deal. They do have a nice clean look without a handle on the front. Also the little battery operated LED lights work well and look good.

Delivery was pretty good - they set them in place and took away all the packing material. I found that I needed to do the final leveling and adjusting to get them right. One of the shelf brackets was broken on arrival, but Wine Enthusiast was very helpful and quickly sent a replacement.

Overall I'm happy with them - they look good, work great, are very quiet, and make it easy to access the wine.

Pure Satisfactin
All of us have made purchases that of which we classified as " one of the best things I've ever purchased", this is one of mine! From top to bottom this cellar exudes quality! Everything that it is supposed to do it does with uncompromising elegance. I have filled it and look forward to exceeding it's capacity and having to get another or larger version!!!

Best of 3 wine chillers I've owned, expensive.
The best part about this wine chiller is the adjustable racks. I can fit large diameter bottles better in the EuroCave than my previous 2 models (not EuroCave's). The racks slide in/out seamlessly and have individual bottle "cradles" that can be slid left/right allowing larger bottles to fit. This does reduce the number of bottles on a rack but EVERY wine chiller has this problem.

EuroCave, build us a chiller with another 1/8-1/4 inch (.4-.7 cm) of vertical space between racks!!!!! We, the wine storing public will buy this chiller over one that advertises 10-20 more bottles of storage space!!!! Build it and we will buy it!!!!!

The racks are adjustable but in much larger increments.

I did not think I would like the large storage shelf as I like to turn my bottles every 6 months but it is handy for storing case to half case purchases of wine I plan to consume in the next year time frame. I also like the very bottom that allows storage of magnums. Something that required me to remove a rack from previous chillers.

The light is also handy as it attaches to the top of the door but easily pulls out if you need to get back into dark, dusty corners of the "cave" to find a bottle. Now I don't have to keep a flashlight nearby.

I would rate this at 4.5 stars if the website allowed, saving 5 stars for the model that has enough clearance between racks to hold my Pinot, CDP and large Cab bottles. My only complaint.

While not cheap, I am happy spending twice the money for a superior product and believe the hype that this chiller will last twice as long as brand X. The only thing that would make me change brands is a chiller with a hair more vertical space between racks. EuroCave, get on it!

miserable instructions
The refrigarator does exactly what it is supposed to after it is started. The minimal instructions do not tell you how to do that, and are very frustating. After two days of trying to get it to work,a call to a very helpful salesman at your company solved our problem. The instructions supplied are simply incorrect!

What white glove delivery?
Unit great so far but only had it a few days. While delivery men we certainly nice they did little more then dump, pull off some packing and go. Told me all I had to do was wait 48 hours and plug it in. Not so! Unit would not work. After spending a good amount of time rechecking my power source finally realized power cord was not plugged into the unit itself. Had to remove the back grate to plug in in. Really wish I had never tipped the guys.

Very nice wine cooler, but watch the shelf adjustments
Very nice looking and happy this one is a few inches wider and taller than my other 2 Dometic Silent Cellars. I especially like the new MDS adjustable rolling shelves. A much better way to place the bottles than just in an open shelf. The bottles don't swim around, they stay in place and are nicely padded. I mainly have Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in my cellars, along with quite a few Syrahs, Cabs, Brunellos, and few other varietals rounding out the mix and I find that they all fit nicely without having to adjust the height between shelves. No scraped labels from being too close together. Plus I get 11 bottles to a shelf, which is great in comparison to the Dometics.

The temp difference from the bottom shelf to the top shelf is around a 12 degree swing (52-64). That's about what my other 2 cellars are like as well and this one is taller by a few inches.

The only problem I've had in the first few weeks of ownership was that I had three shelves fall in the back on one side, with 11 bottles on them! In order to recover from that you have to take all the bottles off and remove the shelf above it and below it to fix the problem. In one instance it scratched the inside surface of the Europecave as it fell. It's caused by the shelf not being as wide as it should be so it falls off the track at the back. This is adjustable by loosening the screw on the back side of each shelf and spreading out the rail from the shelf - making them wider. You do this with a phillips head screwdriver. They go in and roll like they are just fine, but you put 11 bottles on there and try them a few days in a row and if there's a problem you will certainly find the shelves that need the adjustment - and it's no fun to have that happen. Best to put in the shelf, put weight on it with your arm, and watch the back rollers as you pull them out and push them back in again. With a flashlight looking underneath the shelf at the drawer slides, you will see (and feel) if it's not sitting right because it will come down on one side or feel difficult and stiff to roll after a few attempts. This normally tells you that the shelf is not wide enough to stay in place during the entire in and out movement.

Now here's hoping this lovely Eurocave will be a reliable unit for decades. If it turns out to be well made, I would consider getting another and selling one of my Dometics because this Eurocave holds more bottles and has nicer shelves.

Perfect size and amenities
Delivery and installation was a breeze and very professional. Interesting to have exact new models side-by-side and the 54 degree temperature setting on both will swing about 2 degrees up and down. Rarely the same temperature setting on both. Otherwise, perfect for our needs in our home cellar.
