Custom Wine Racks

Custom Wine Racks

With Custom racking, the possibilities are endless! Any possible design that you can imagine can be created to fit the exact space of your potential wine cellar. Individual bottle wine storage is the most popular style of wine racking. These wine racks come single or double deep with spacing for half bottles, wine, champagne, magnums and larger sizes. Curved corner wine racks allow your wine cellar to flow around the room without any sharp corners. Bulk wine storage wine racks, including Diamond Bins or Cubes, allow you to utilize your space more efficiently as they help to increase capacity. You can use our Wine Display options in order to show off your prized wine labels. Archways, Tasting Tables & Workstations create the perfect place to open wines and stage your cellar selections for the evening's entertainment. Finish off your cellar with our selection of Wine Lockers and Custom Cabinetry to achieve the fully personalized custom wine cellar showcase effect.

Custom racking also allows for a greater variety of wood options, stains and finishes. There are only a handful of woods that are suitable for use in a wine cellar. This is due to the climate, particularly the high humidity levels, that needs to be created in a proper cellar. While Walnut, Oak and Pine are completely suitable for wine cellar racking, the two most popular woods used are Redwood and Mahogany. There is no other North American wood that has as much resistance to rot, mildew and insects as All Heart Redwood. As it ages natural unstained All Heart Redwood takes on increasing darker depth of beautiful color as it oxidizes. Mahogany is a dense hardwood which is resistant to shrinking, warping, checking and has the natural ability to withstand the cool, humid environment in the wine cellar. It is also an excellent choice for wine cellars due to its resistant to rotting, decay and infestation.

Wine Rack Kits

Wine Rack Kits

Let's start with kit racking. Wood racking kits are basically a pre-fabricated version of the most popular racks used in the Custom series. There are many options of different racks to choose from (Individual, Diamond Bin, Rectangular Bin, etc). However, unlike the Custom series the racks all have set dimensions. Each full height rack in these kit collections can go to either 6 or 8 feet in height, are typically 13 ½" deep and different racks will have different widths. There are half height racks available as well. Since the dimensions are predetermined, they may or may not fit perfectly in your space the way Custom racking would. There are options for different stains, but they don't vary as much as custom.

Display Racking

Display Racking

Being able to display the labels of your most prized wines is the latest trend in wine cellaring. Some collectors use it as a way to showcase their finest selections in their collection and make it the focal point of the cellar design. Others prefer to show ever single bottle in their entire collection. There are a variety of different display racking style to choose from depending on your particular storage needs and design preferences. VintageView is the most well know producer of this metal style of display racking. They offer racks that are attached to brackets that can be wall mounted, or even pins/pegs that attach directly to the wall which are as beautiful as they are easy to install. Some display racking combines wood and metal in either freestanding fashion or in a panel design that can be mounted to the wall. So when you want to show off your collection for everyone to see, then utilizing some form of display racking is certainly a viable option.

Freestanding Wine Racks

Freestanding Wine Racks

When basic wine storage is the main goal, there are plenty of budget minded free standing wood and metal racks that can offer an excellent value storage option. Some racks are full size with individual bottle storage, while others are modular and can come in various bottle storage options including bins and cubes. These racks may not offer all of the options that custom or kits do, such as full depth racking, display rows and top quality wood. However if you are looking to store and organize your collection in an efficient and affordable manner, than our Freestanding Racks might just be exactly what you need.
