Understanding and assessing each wine lover’s collection, along with utilizing every space available in the cellar, is paramount for storing and protecting their liquid assets. This particular customer had a need to store and display his larger format collectibles, including 3L and 6L size bottles! Utilizing vertical display racking in combination with more traditional individual and double deep wood case racks we were able to create a perfect combination of display and function. The entire cellar is crafted from California Redwood, and with a WhiperKOOL Platinum split providing the cooling, these wines are being perfectly protected while on display for all to see. Take a look below to learn more about how this wine cellar vision came to fruition…

We asked the customer to share some comments about the design and construction of this unique, custom wine cellar…
I came to Wine Enthusiast and met with David based on a friend’s recommendation who had worked with Wine Enthusiast on their cellar project. I provided some images, sketches and immediately we started the consultation and design process.
The first aspect I always address in any wine cellar project is cooling, as it is the most important part of the cellar. Based on the glass wall, lighting and surrounding temperature, we chose the Whisperkool Platinum Split 8000. To work the cooling system into the cellar design, we incorporated specific individual bottle storage to frame the evaporator that is in the wine cellar.

I felt very comfortable working with Wine Enthusiast as David listened and delivered on all the ideas I had for my space. He was able to work with my contractors, electricians and provided me an installer that was able to site measure.
As you walk into the cellar, you are greeted by an entire wall of large format bottles. This is my favorite part of the room as all the labels are displayed for that WOW factor– some are even signed by the winemaker!

It’s amazing how smooth the process was once everything was lined up. David is very detail oriented and was even provided me samples and alternatives to ensure that I would be happy with the finished project.
I love the center island in the space. Decanters are like works of art so why not display them? Beautiful wines need proper vessels to decant and pour and these are all at your reach.

Job well done by Wine Enthusiast and all involved.
This cellar is really all about display. What I absolutely love is the modern elements such as the glass wall and door as well as the VintageView Display Racks all while keeping the traditional redwood racking in the space. It’s a beautiful marriage of a customer’s vision and the cellar design experience of Wine Enthusiast.
