Synonymous with Big Gulp sodas and Slurpees, 7-Eleven may not be your go-to store for wine. But the 24-hour retail chain recently launched its first-ever line of wines in a can. Aptly named Roamer, the Chardonnay and rosé are for people in a rush, much like everything else in the store.
“The name, Roamer, reflects how we think people will enjoy this new wine—while they’re out and attending concerts, picnics or spending a day at the beach,” said Tim Cogil, 7-Eleven senior director of private brands, in a press release.
The Roamer rosé is Syrah-based with hints of strawberry and raspberry, and the Chardonnay has an oak influence with notes of citrus fruits. They retail at $5 for a 12.7 ounce can, and are 13% abv.
It’s not 7-Elevens first wine though.
Roamer will join brands like Yosemite Road, which celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2019, on the shelves.
In 2017, the chain also added Trojan Horse Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio to their portfolio, and earlier this year they entered the premium wine market when they added Voyager Point.
So whether you’re looking for something that’s easy to carry—or simply just don’t feel like washing glassware—this new line is the ultimate “can-venience.”
