From Rare Whiskey to 30-Minute Delivery, How to get Spirits to Your Door

When you buy something through our link, we may earn a small commission from our affiliate partners. Wine Enthusiast maintains complete editorial independence and all wines are blind tasted. Read more about our policy.

Whether you’re looking to stock your home bar, send a special gift, or close out a long day with a stiff drink ASAP, these companies have your back—and you don’t even have to leave the couch.

Here are seven of the best websites and apps for ordering spirits online.

Mash & Grape

You don’t come to Mash & Grape for Tito’s and Jack Daniels.

Mash & Grape can help you find new-to-you distillers that you won’t necessarily see at your neighborhood liquor store. The site carries over 300 whiskeys alone, which are divided into nine categories like Bourbon, rye, single-malt Scotch and more. There’s also a monthly spirit subscription; participants choose their preferred spirit category and receive a bottle from a small, independent distiller each month.

Mash & Grape ships to almost every U.S. state, and you’ll likely have your order at your door within the week.

Caskers

This site caters to serious spirits enthusiasts. Caskers carries more than 3,000 small-batch, artisanal selections from around the globe. The company provides extensive histories and tasting notes for every bottle to help you expand your spirits know-how while you shop and sip.

The “Rare Finds” page features exclusive releases that aren’t available elsewhere. For instance, fancy a $17,500 bottle of Double Eagle Very Rare Bourbon Whiskey?

Caskers also offers two whiskey clubs, which you can subscribe to for six months or one year, for two full-sized bottles. Shipping availability varies per product.

Drizly

Ideal for “I need a drink now” consumption, Drizly partners with retailers in more than 180 U.S. geographic markets to provide on-demand alcohol delivery to your door in less than an hour.

If you’re the plan-ahead type, you can also schedule a delivery up to two weeks in advance. Drizly offers pretty much any type of liquor you can think of, from household names to the obscure, and covers all price points, but there is usually a $5 delivery fee.

Order minimums are determined by retailers.

Saucey

Desperate times call for Saucey, which promises alcohol delivery within 30 minutes. In partnership with local liquor stores, Saucey covers all the bases for stocking your bar cart. So far, it’s rolled out in two dozen markets, including cities like Boston, Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area, with plans to continue expanding.

Saucey charges a $4.99 delivery fee and a small cart fee, but there is no minimum order.

Minibar

Another “Uber, but for alcohol” concept, Minibar works with local retailers to deliver alcohol to your doorstep in around an hour after just a few taps in an app. The company got its start in New York City but has since expanded across the U.S. and hits top vacation spots like Key Largo, Aspen, Palm Springs and beyond. They can ship to areas that aren’t covered as well.

Delivery minimums and fees vary by retailer. Minibar also has a dedicated cocktail recipes page and a Book a Bartender feature that allows you to hire a bartender for 3–5 hours in certain cities.

Whiskey Exchange

True to its name, Whiskey Exchange offers delivery on more than 3,000 whiskeys, plus other fine spirits, wine and beer to 30+ countries worldwide.

Specializing in old and rare whiskeys, the company offers an extensive collection of Macallan and has a knack for sourcing rum, Cognac and Chartreuse. Whiskey Exchange is U.K.-based, so delivery to the U.S. can take up to 20 working days and you’ll have to pay customs charges at the time of checkout, but it’s likely worth it for that bottle you can’t get anywhere else.
