In the short time since he launched the Black Wine Guy Experience podcast in fall 2020, MJ has become a sought-after and a respected force in wine media, climbing quickly to No. 17 on Apple Podcasts for Food (yes, wine is food—take it up with Apple if you don’t like it). Before breaking down the walls between race and wine in ways that are fun and welcoming to all on his podcast, MJ caught the wine bug working storied retailer Acker Wines in New York City and in a few short years became the first ever Black fine and rare wine auctioneer.
