McCoy can’t seem to slow down. From becoming one of the youngest Master Sommeliers in 2013 at the age of 28 to working at some of the best fine dining restaurants to being hired as CEO of Heitz Cellar in Napa Valley in 2018, the hits just keep coming. In 2020, he was named the managing partner of Lawrence Wine Estates, which has him overseeing not only Heitz, but also Stony Hill, Burgess, Brendel, Ink Grade and Demeine Estates, a premier négociant and broker of fine wine.

He supports each in the mission to create elegant, terroir-driven wines sourced from naturally farmed estate vineyards. Carlton is also cofounder of The Roots Fund, a nonprofit that provides scholarships, educational resources and job opportunities to members of BIPOC communities.
