Do the shelves slide out to allow you to remove a bottle, or are they fixed in place?
gogojohnnygo on Nov 12, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Shelves slide out enough to insert or remove bottles. Top shelves slide out more than bottom two (compressor is located behind, so they are shorter), but it does not create problem.
Can you turn off the lighting displayed on outside of unit?
Andrew B on Dec 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: To the best of my knowledge, no. The minimal lights seem to be only the temperature numerals.
Is this a brushed black stainless steel finish like modern kitchen appliances, or is it simply metal painted or powder coated black without brush marks?
Elias on Dec 3, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Painted without brush marks. It is well built and looks great. I also like having the ability to lock it!
Can anyone tell me how long the electrical cord is? Looking to put two of these in a specific location, but will need to install a new outlet to accommodate. Thanks in advance..
Jared L on Sep 2, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Without undoing mine, roughly 56"
Can this be built in?
Kimberly on Aug 6, 2018
BEST ANSWER: I would think it is possible. However that is not how I am using it and you may have to ask the manufacturer. I think it would be depend on how much room you leave behind the unit.
Can the wine fridge be transported on its side?
debbie d on Jun 8, 2018
BEST ANSWER: It should be transported in a full upright position.
Can this unit be placed under an existing top with cabinets on the side? I have a max 35” height with max 24” width. Thanks.
Peter D on Oct 13, 2018
BEST ANSWER: Peter, this unit is designed to be free standing, you will need enough space on all sides of the fridge for proper ventilation, including behind the unit. Not knowing the exact depth of your space, I would recommend speaking with one of our wine storage consultants (800-356-8466) to ensure you get the proper wine fridge for your space. Thanks!

Gorgeous and quiet
I'm amazed at how quiet this wine fridge is. Were it not for the temperature showing in a nice shade of blue, I wouldn't even know the unit was plugged in when standing next to it. And it's beautiful as well.

As another reviewer stated, the fridge does get warm to the touch. That's why it's important to have adequate clearance on all sides.

The only disappointment is the storage capacity. I squeezed in 34 bottles, including four champagne and two late harvests. The most Bordeaux bottles I can fit on one shelf is five. So I need the reviewer who stated that it holds 52 Bordeaux bottles to tell me his secret. I followed the diagram. Maybe I'll try it again.

But my personal capacity problem aside, I highly recommend this unit.

The bottle capacity is over-rated
The fit and finish of this unit is very good. The unit is quiet and seems to have no problem holding the set temperature.

However BE VERY AWARE, the advertised capacity is based on small Bordeaux bottles. Most Cabernet, Sauvignon, Merlot bottles sold in the US are the larger "California Red" style bottles. With these types of wine, only about 5 bottles comfortably fit on each shelf which makes this a 40 bottle wine cooler.

VERY misleading
I would LOVE to see someone get 52 bottles into this unit....Impossible! Very misleading.

52-Bottle Evolution Series Wine Refrigerator (Glass Door with Black Stainless Steel Trim)
This unit fits perfect in the dedicated space under the bar. I like the smoke glass, and the readout panel is clear. All bottles fit nicely, and the main reason I was sold on this item was it has a door lock on it.

good value for wine refrigerator
Unit operates as advertised. Maintains consistent internal temperature although outside cabinet gets warm to touch. Quiet operation. Holds 52 bottles only for Bordeaux-style.

Nice wine cooler
This is a nice product from a reliable company. I purchased it primarily because it was the appropriate width to fit in the intended space. I would like to have purchased a dual zone, but this was the only one available with the required width. My only negative is that the shelving is rather close to hold pinot noir bottles but my expectation and experience with wine coolers is that they never quite fit the quantity of bottles quoted.

Quiet Running
It’s been just a month but we are very happy. This was a replacement for a different brand we bought at Costco that was so obnoxiously noisy it was returned. This one is very quiet, you barely can hear it running. (We have it in our bedroom.) Temperature has been good. We are very happy with this purchase.

As I expected
Rec'd the Evolution Series Wine Fridge in a timely manner, set it up on a sturdy platform, made sure it was level, then let it sit about 36 hrs. Plugged it in, loaded it up, and it has worked as advertised. Very pleased.

Nice fridge
The wine fridge is very quiet and seems to be very efficient. It does a reasonably good job of holding Pinot Noir bottles. The shelves are easy to pull in and out. It is very good value based on what I had seen in the market.
