Bev on Dec 9, 2013
BEST ANSWER: This product weighs 30 pounds.
The description says that this cooler is "meant to hold standard Bordeaux size bottles, using larger size bottles may limit the capacity," and goes on to say that it's "meant to hold standard Bordeaux size bottles, using larger size bottles may limit the capacity." I find it difficult to believe that Wine Enthusiast would make a cooler that didn't hold common U.S. sized (California Red) bottles. Can anyone tell me if six of the California Red bottles will fit in this cooler? Thanks.
Mike M on Oct 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: We have found that it holds 6 bottles of red just fine. The only issue we have had is with some of the pinots where the bottles are fat and can touch if you put them next to each
other. This is a nice little cooler.
How do you level this appliance? The front legs are uneven.
null on Dec 17, 2011

I am interested in purchasing one to turn into a cheese cave. Would this work for a cheese cave?
Andrea M on Mar 5, 2016
BEST ANSWER: I'm not familiar with requirements for cheese cave. I had my 6-bottle unit almost 2 years. in South Tx room temps run upper 70s during the summer. My unit struggled to cool down to low 50s F. during first year. Second year not quite as cool. After 20 months stopped working altogether.
For my space requirements, could not find another suitable unit. Currently unpacking a new identical unit - which could possibly meet definition of insanity. Good luck!
When I set a temperature with the control, the number flashes for a few seconds and then "Er" stays flashing. What is the problem?
Michael S on Jan 4, 2018

sorry, 220 volts ?
Audrey B on Aug 2, 2016

Is there humidity control? Is this device designed to store old wine for long periods of time?
Felix on Sep 23, 2013
BEST ANSWER: This unit does not create humidity. If you have fine wines that need long term storage may I suggest that you call a storage consultant to discuss the best option for you.
Looking to use it to keep already opened wine bottles. If I take out the shelf s will is there room for the bottles to stand up or would your recommend a different product. I think that I would prefer an 8 bottle size to hold 4 open bottles and 4 full bottles. We are looking for it to sit on the back counter in the bar.
Steve on Jul 27, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The Wine Enthusiast Silent 6 Bottle Touchscreen Wine Refrigerator does allow for the shelving to be removed to allow for larger bottles, but the height of the cooler will not allow bottles to sit upright. The alternative would be to get vacuum sealers for the bottles, allowing the bottles to be side laying, but this would limit the capacity of the refrigerator. In addition the 6 bottle capacity is a tight fit, in perfect conditions. You may wish to consider a larger wine refrigerator for your needs.
It says in the manual to level it on the floor and on here it says it can go on the counter top, just wondering if it is in fact okay for counter top use?
Cait on Dec 26, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Yes, the product is acceptable to use on a counter top. However, proper venting must be insured as the back of the refrigerator does vent some heat.

My cooler seems to have stopped cooling and the LED temp indicator just keeps flashing. When I attempt to adjust temp it allows me to do so, but keeps flashing then reverts back flashing ambient temp. The unit is out of warranty is there anything I can do?

Steve on Jul 9, 2014

How much clearance, in inches, is recommended in the back, on the top, and on the sides? Where I plan on putting the cooler now, I would have ~5.5 inches in the back, 3 inches above the back half of the the top, a few feet above the front half of the top, ~2.5-3 inches on the right side, and a few feet on the left side. Will that work? Thanks!
DavidC on Aug 5, 2012
BEST ANSWER: We would recommend at least 6" all around and the front completely open. If you give less on one side make up on the other side.
Will the taller (13 1/2") champagne bottles fit in this?
leslie on Dec 5, 2011
BEST ANSWER: 13.5" would really be the maximum length bottle this cellar would hold.
Who manufactures this wine refrigerator? How much rear vent space does it need on the counter? Have you received any reviews or complaints yet? Thank you.
null on Nov 18, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Great questions! This is a Wine Enthusiast manufactured unit and like all Silent units will require about 3" of clearance on the back, top and sides for ventilation. This is a brand new unit that we will be shipping out shortly, so there are probably not any reviews available as of yet.
How long is the cord?

Can this be gift wrapped?
null on Nov 10, 2011

This item cannot be gift wrapped. It is shipped in the box that it is housed in. Any further questions, please give us a call at 800-377-3330.

What is the inside height dimension, so I can put a few opened bottles in with all the shelfs removed.
null on Nov 1, 2011
BEST ANSWER: Most bottles are going to be too tall to stand up in that unit, even with all the shelves removed. You can always push the cork back in and just lay it back down...
My cooler is collecting water so fast that the water box overflows onto the floor if I do not empty it out every week. What can be causing this?

nice fridge
I love the fridge overall. It looks great, is quiet as advertised, & I love that the shelves pull out. BUT with an average size bottle of wine that you have to recork & put back in the fridge, it's too short unless you shove the cork so far in you have to use a wine opener to geti t back out. I wish it was just another 2 inches deeper.

Stopped Working
My mother in law and I both have the same exact model and both of ours stopped working within a month of each other. The power just doesn't come on at all. We have had it around 3-4 years. Thought it would last longer than that.

Wine chiller as art
Have had this unit for 2 weeks now and love the design, compact size, easy access door, and that cool blue LED interior However, it makes more noise than expected, and the noise is more noticeable when you put it on the kitchen counter. The cooling fan NEVER turns off. It cranks up after you have added bottles or lowered the temp and eventually backs down to a high pitched hummmm. But its an irritating hum. My guess is it strikes a weird harmonic with some included. The cooling system isnt compressor driven..its thermoelectric, so cooling fans blow over heat exchanger vanes..hence the need for constant fan action. In fact the system resembles cooling on a high end computer cpu, and the fan noise is the same. I am deliberating whether to return the unit. Its not defective...I also bought the 18-bottle dual zone version, and its even more noisy. One has to choose between the stunning appearance of this unit and the irritating low pitched hum it emits.

So far, so good
This wine cooler fits my need to keep a few bottles of red wine at a drinkable temperature, and it is attractive. I've not owned a cooler that uses compressor refrigeration (unlike this thermoelectric unit), so I can't compare the noise levels or temperature accuracy. I like the removable tray that collects condensation, which is present with this kind of cooler in Florida's high humidity. It is pretty quiet, but not "silent" as the name claims. My only complaint, really, is that the touchscreen is a little too sensitive and the celsius/fahrenheit button near the door grip keeps changing modes. Overall, though, it does what I want it to do and I'll be happy if it proves durable.

6 Months Review
In the beginning this was an excellent product. However, after 6 months of use I am finding the temperature fluctuations to be unacceptable. I keep only white wines in the fridge at 46 degrees. At first it fluctuated 2 degrees when I added a new bottle (I always keep it full of the 6 bottles)but returned to 46 by the next morning. Now I can't get the temperature to go below 50 at any time. I've unplugged and reset the temperature but to no avail. I've even cleaned the filter cover at the back, but again,I can't get the temperature below 50. Very disappointing, but packaging is gone and there was no information on a warranty.

Helped get the wine out of the fridge!
My boyfriend and I were moving in together and I realized I needed to make some room in our fridge for food instead of just wine. This little fridge was the perfect solution and a great way to also limit you to how many bottles you have chilled at any one time...if you have a problem with that sort of thing (he does). Very quiet, sleek and able to fit on the countertop.

Very disappointing
This model does not measure up to your earlier 6 bottle wine is noisy, and runs constantly as it struggles to get to 50 F. Very disappointing when compared to our 1st one which we also purchased from WE.

Does not keep temperature
I bought the fridge a few months ago to keep my white wines. As a casual wine drinker, open one or two bottles a month, I was hoping to keep a few bottles in it instead of always having to run to the wine store last minute. Like previous comments, I set a temp of 46 degrees but the fridge cannot seem to get below 54. I have repeatedly tried to re-set the temp but to no avail as it sits at 52-54 degrees. Clearly not what I paid for.

Very Disappointed
The Customer service manager offered no options or help with my problem. Very disappointed.

I Love this Fridge!
It's a small fridge but perfect for singles or couples. I use it for my dinner reds for the perfect "room temperature".It's a nice quality and fits my kitchen counter perfectly.
