Hello, i bought this product and so far I have just one problem. The cooler makes so much noise. And because it's called silent I'm a little suspicious that something is not alright. Anyone experienced something like that?
moroglolz on Jul 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hi - I've had mine for over a year now and it is silent. Perhaps you need to make certain it's level - that makes a big difference in fan noise. Also, check that the shelving is in correctly and seated in the notches in back. If this doesn't solve the problem, you should try to ascertain whether it's a fan noise or the motor and contact service. My unit is totally silent except for once in a great while it whirs and then stops.
can I put the 32 bottle wine refrigerator in a bedroom closet?
St Eve on Aug 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello Steve,
It really depends on how large the closet is and how warm it gets.
If it is less than 77 degrees and has sufficient space for proper air flow all around than possibly.
You may also want to have a louvered door for the closet.
Feel free to give one of our Wine Cellar Specialists a call to discuss @ 1-800-356-8466.

Thank you.
Can the depth of the shelving fit a bottle that is 13 inches tall?
Marisa A on Jul 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Yes it can. I have had no problem fitting any length or size bottles. Sometimes if I put a few which have larger barrels, like champagne, Pinot Noir or Chardonnay, I can simply turn one of them backwards so they fit side by side
Had my wine fridge for about one year now and it starts to make a loud noise every few days and this requires that I switch off and leave. Sound is very loud and would wake you up at night.?
Chris L on Aug 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Chris: not sure if Wine Enthusiasts responded to this or fixed this problem for you. I've had mine one n a half years. Still love it. Right outside my bedrooms in lower level of house n I don't hear it. My only complaint is sometimes the toggle arrows don't work for going down on temp. For some reason it climbs.
Two questions:
1) Will this cooler accommodate magnums?
2) What is the net weight of the unit?
Thanks
Chris on Jun 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This cooler will only accommodate magnums if you remove all the shelving. It weighs appx 50 lbs.
Could the unit's power cord be plugged into a short, heavy duty power cord, which in turn would be plugged into the wall socket? Also, what is the length of the power cord of the unit?
Archie on Aug 4, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes you can use a heavy duty power cord. The cord is approx 5ft
The description for this product says it's stainless but the photo looks as though it's black. Can you confirm whether the cabinet is stainless or black?
Jim on Jun 20, 2014

It is mostly black with a stainless steel trim on the left and right of the door itself.
Thank you

what is the electrical power consumption?

BEST ANSWER: Minuscule. I never even noticed any difference in our kwh usage after purchasing this Wine refrigerator.
Does the temperature display indicate "Set Point" or actual temperature of the Zone?
Pete on Oct 13, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The Wine Refrigerator is set to 50 degrees at the factory. You may change the settings and the refrigerator will display the set temperature.
Can this unit be placed behind a door in a pantry closet?
I can provide a vent screen on the door of closet.
Ira on Jul 5, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Yes and No. This wine cooler is not meant to be used in an enclosed area because it needs a vent to an open area. Since you are putting in a vent, there shouldn't be a problem with putting it behind a door in the pantry.
Notwithstanding the warning about mounting this unit in a cabinet, I wonder how much risk there is to using the unit in a slide in opening under a counter-top that would have at least an inch of clearance on each side, several inches of clearance at the rear and an inch of clearance on top?
Dan on Mar 11, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your inquiry. As this unit is NOT designed to be built in, if one must recess or build in, we recomend at least 4" all the way around the unit. If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to us at 800 356 8466. Thank you again.
Are there any concerns re: placing this unit on a hardwood floor in my dining room (ie. moisture leakage issues)?
mew on Dec 15, 2012
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your question, there will be no issue with the 32 bottle wine cellar on hardwood or any type of flooring. These units do not have any waterlines that can cause an issue.
How do I set the temperature on the dual touchscreen.
null on Dec 23, 2011
BEST ANSWER: How to use the Display Panel:
You can set the temperature as you desire by using the press buttons. Use the “?” and “?”
to adjust the temperature by 1°F among 46-66°F for lower zone or 54-66°F.for upper zone.
You can turn the interior light on or off by pressing the “light” button.
What are the internal dimensions of each of the two zones with the shelves removed?
TCT on Nov 8, 2011
BEST ANSWER: 13 5/8" wide by 13 7/8" tall for the top section, and the same width but 14 3/4" tall for the bottom section. The depth is hard to measure because it extends into the door, but I'm guessing 14" deep.
I want to use this cooler to house my white wines----mainly Riesling, but some Chardonnay and Sparkling wines. Are the interior dimensions deep enough to house Riesling bottles? Will 32 Riesling bottles fit?
WineGuy on Apr 20, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello,
The interior depth is large enough to accommodate most Riesling bottles.
You should be able to get 25-28 bottles, depending on size variations.
Can the metal shelves be replaced with wooden shelves? As I understand, having metal shelves can create cold spots in the wine bottle. If the shelves can be replaced with wooden ones, what do you suggest?
Amy on Feb 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This unit comes only with chrome shelves. We have not had any issues or problems with storing wine on metal shelving.
We purchased and had this shipped only to realize it should not be used under a counter. If we provide space around the sides and top will it perform fine?
Terry on Jan 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: All of these touchsceen thermo electric models need at least 4" of clearance all around for venting. Sides, top & and back
Is it possible to have flat shelves instead of the wine racks inside the unit?

This is advertised as "silent" and for about 10 months it was. Now, it is making a very noisy motor sound! What is wrong with it?
DARCY on Nov 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Something may be loose. I would recommend calling our technical dept. at 800 648 6058 option 2.
The specifications has pictures of many bottles, and says the cooler is built for Bordeauxs. Are you suggesting that none of the other bottles will fit without removing shelves?

What are the maximum bottle dimensions (Height, radius) that the cooler can hold with all shelves in place?
Mark on Oct 25, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Some standard Burgundy bottles wiil fit if a Bordeaux bottle is next to it. The bottom where there is no shelf also has larger spacing for some of these larger formats.
What is the height of the unit to the top of the hinge??
bobio on Oct 18, 2014
BEST ANSWER: 33 1/2 " to the top of the hinge.
Why don't you list the size specs for your items?
Penny on Oct 3, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Our specifications are under the description tab: Size: 33-1/2"H x 15-3/4"W x 20 1/4"D
Can the shelves be removed or the height level adjusted? I am looking to use this unit to store dessert wines that are varying sizes of 200ml, 375ml and 500ml. The goal is to remove racks and stack the dessert wines.

I already have a nice Eurocave 266 for my regular 750ml bottles.

Thanks
Buckeyewine on Sep 19, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hello Buckeyewine,
Yes, these shelves can be removed.

Thank you
Is it possible to put a lock on this refrig?
Tyson on Sep 17, 2014
BEST ANSWER: This unit does not come with a lock and unfortunately it is not possible.
Does this unit require a dedicated circuit, or can it be plugged into any wall outlet with other electrical appliances/devices?
ncmusicman on Aug 26, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The 32-Bottle wine cellar requires a standard 110V ~ 60Hz electrical outlet with 3-pin plug. A 30amp circuit breaker would be recommended if this is on the same line as 2-3 other larger appliances.
I just bought your 24 bottle unit the other day and it took several hours to get to my desired temperature, probably due to my wine bottles being at room temperature. The question I have is this, is the unit supposed to be constantly running? I have yet to hear it completely silent.
New to this on Jul 22, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hello,
Wine cellars can take up to 48 hours to stabilize temperature.
As for the frequency of how it is running please check with our Technical department @ 1-800-648-6058 option #2.
Thank you
I have looked at a number of reviews for this product in various locations and many people have commented on the fact that the door to this refrigerator is not attached properly, and falls off with no way to re-attach it. Has anyone here had this experience? Otherwise, looks like a fine product...
barbara on Jul 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hello Barbara,
This cellar is one of one of our very best cellars. We have sold a significant amount of them with very little returns. I would feel confident in purchasing one without any problems.
Thank you

Definitely as advertized
Setup was fairly easy (the hardest part was leveling it on our crooked floor!), and it took overnight to come down to the temps we set it out.

I suppose it's not technically "silent" but when it's actively cooling all you get is the gentlest whirring sound that you can't hear from more than a few feet away. It's far quieter than every other appliance or electronic thing we have in the house!

We were actually concerned about the temp, since the manual says that it's designed to reach the coolest temperatures when the ambient temperature is 60-65 degrees. In the summer our house stays around 75, and we haven't had any trouble keeping the zones at 50 and 58 degrees, respectively.

We had almost purchased with the next smaller version of this, but went with this one purely for aesthetic reasons (this one's size fit better with the scale of our other furniture in the room). And we're glad we did because we had to remove several shelves to fit larger pinot and champagne bottles, so it really doesn't fit the full 32...

A Really Nice Buy
I have had this unit for about 10 months now and couldn't be more pleased with the value. Quiet and dependable, the unit can take a full load of room temperature bottles and have them reach the target temperatures in relatively short order; think 6-7 hours rather than overnight. When you add 4 or 5 bottles at a time the unit doesn't even take notice, it just purrs along. I had read the reviews that focused on how noisey the unit was and was concerned because the plan was to set it up in the dining room. Turns out I can't tell when it's actually running because it is so quiet. I think the other reviewers who experience so loud a noise that it is annoying may have gotten a unit that was dropped or damamged in transit. Mine came through like a charm. If there is an issue that annoys me it is the engineering of the unit and the internal space. I'm pretty comfortable that an inch of extra height and width would have gone a long way to making this an exceptional unit. As it is, even with standard bottles, it is a very tight squeeze to get 32 bottles into the unit. It may be space issues or the engineering of the shelving but about half my shelves result in a really tight fit. Sufficiently tight that a little muscle and a lot of care are needed to fit in the bottles. I really don't like the scratched bottles that can result. I've also discovered that I would prefer two doors over one but maybe that's really picky.

Excellent unit (so far)
Wine fridges in general are notoriously the problem children of anyone's appliance ranks. However, I've been pleased to this point with the 32 bottle dual zone fridge. It's better looking than in the picture, keeps my wines at the right temperature (I checked with a digital thermometer), and is silent as far as I can tell.

A great refrigerator with a rocky start
We originally purchased this on 11/26/11. It was a new refrigerator they were offering and we had to wait until December when they shipped out the first ones. Love the unit, it is the perfect size for us. It looks nice and is fairly quiet. You have 18 bottle shelving in red and white compartments both. It could have been a little wider to accommodate the larger bottles such as champagne. You can still fit them if you take out the bottom shelf and just lay them on the bottom of the unit in that section. Now it is March of 2012 and we are on our 3rd unit. They seem to have had a problem with the temperature board on the first shipment. My first 2 units had the same problem with the electronics. I waited to call back until February hoping they would have a new shipment in and they would have fixed the problem. Success with the wait. I had to wait for my 3rd unit to be shipped until they got new ones in stock. We have now had the 3rd unit for approx 2 weeks and so far no problem. The problem with the electronics board on the first 2 showed up immediately. I will add comments in the future should anything arise. I do love this unit, the size, the look, the way it works. It keeps the temperature perfect for both red and white in each zone.

Decent cooler for the price
This cooler isn't the best thing out there but it's not bad either for what it costs. Mine is in my basement with an ambient temperature of about 65. I have both compartments set to 56 but it keeps them a degree or two cooler than that (I have a digital thermometer/hygrometer inside) which reads 54-55. Right now they are both set to 56 but the top is 54 and the bottom is 55; the cooler is about 5 bottles shy of being full. Humidity remains around 70% inside so no worries about the corks drying out and I didn't notice any vibrations.

Just received but love it so far!
Dual zone works great - contemporary stylish design, quiet, just wish shelves had a little more space in-between. We scrape the bottles as we pull them out to drink.

Good wine fridge
So far so good, we received the wine fridge about a month ago. I set the desired temps and waited 24 hours before filling with wine. I only had one Pinot Noir bottle that did not fit. We drink more red than white so in lower half I removed a shelf to allow for two champagne bottles. It's exactly what we were looking for. Placed in our eat in kitchen and looks great.

Delivery was excellent and the unit was unpacked and setup by the delivery service. Great.

Nice and quiet
We wanted a small wine fridge for the corner of our kitchen and this fits the bill! Just make sure you allow space behind it for air circulation since it can't be placed under a counter. But it's good looking enough to be out in the open. So far, temperatures have remained constant and it's very quiet, as described. We agree with other reviewers that it won't fit larger bottles so you may get less storage. However, for standard sizes it is perfect.
November 15, 2011
Delivers as promised!
This is our first wine fridge purchase and I am glad we got a dual zone. However, we are unable to get the top (red wine) zone above 61 degrees, no matter where we set the thermostat. The whites stay perfectly chilled below and I suspect it is because we have more whites than reds in the fridge. Other than that, we love it. It is sleek, quiet and looks great in our dining room. Haven't had an energy bill yet, so cannot comment on the energy use.
