Will units keep cool in apt with no a/c? Inside temp sometimes over 90 deg.
John F on Aug 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It will, but the fans will probably run the whole time. When our home gets warmer I tend to notice it runs constantly. Hope this helps.
How many bottles can stand up verses lay down? Can it be configured such that all the bottles lay down?
Matt on Oct 28, 2014
BEST ANSWER: You can stand at least 5-6 bottles up, depending on size. It also comes with 3 extra racks so that if you don't want that feature you can insert the racks and store 15 bottles on the bottom.
We recently purchased this model. It does not allow us to set the temperature to a lower, more desirable temperature. We had an older model from Wine Enthusiast that was cooler. After several years it has lived it's life. Is there something that can be done with the thermostat on this model? Can we return it and purchase a different model?

Thank you!

What dual zone wine refrigerator do you recommend for champagne?
Rod on May 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: All wines are stored at 55 degrees including Champagne.
Champagne serves at temperatures in the low 40's.
So depending on your budget and depending on whether you need service temperatures or storage temperatures would depend on how I would answer this question. Please call in to speak to a representative to help you further.
We live in a humid climate and have had problems in the past with wine refrigerators that have "sweat" on the door because of the humidity. How does this unit do in a humid environment?
Dan on Jan 4, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Unsure of how humid your ambient condition is, our Wine Enthusiast models our double thermopaned to prevent as much condensation as possible.
Can this unit be placed under the countertop. We had our kitchen renovated and I provided space for 15" wine refrigerator. The outlet is there , only need to slide unit in, but unsure if this particular model can be used as such?
Renee on Aug 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello Renee,
These units are not intended to be placed under a counter top. They will require proper ail flow all around. I recommend looking at our HDX 29 Nfinity wine cellar.
This cellar is front venting and intended to be placed under a counter top.

Thank you.
What about defrosting; or are your coolers frost free?
Donna A on Aug 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No defrosting necessary and we've never had any frost buildup.. This is a great unit. It's very efficient and cools to the designated temperature. We live in Florida and of course it's very hot in the summer and we can't hear it turn on and off but it obviously must!
Does this unit retain temperature setting after power cutoff, or does it need to be set again?
Mike G on Sep 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Mike G, I just pulled the plug and had to reset the temps. Instructions indicate, if power loss or unplug must wait several minutes to plug in again, I didn't wait and had to reset temps, will check it later. All in all, I am novice wine drinker and love this unit.
Can this unit be stored in a walk in pantry? Description says it cannot be used in an enclosed area.
J C on Aug 14, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The refrigerator needs area around to dissipate the heat from the compressor. It cannot be backed up against a wall. Does the walk in pantry have ventilation such as louvered doors? I'm no expert. I think this question should be directed to the maker. Mine is in a corner of a room and has a minimum of 3 inches all around.
is anybody's fridge totally 'silent'?
andi s on Sep 6, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Mine is. I've had it for a year come Christmas. I've kept the LED lights on the whole time and have each compartment set as low as it will go. It's still running strong, keeping cool, and totally silent. I'm super happy with it.
Can you use an extension cord?
A shopper on Jul 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I am not using an extension cord myself but I can not think of a reason that it would not work with one. An Extension cord is nothing more than an addition to your house wiring. The current does not know that it is traveling down an extension cord.
Where is the 21 bottle wine cooler shipped from? Depending on location can it be picked up to save shipping?
Dean G on Aug 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't remember where it shipped from. One thing to puts off a lot of heat and is not meant for a built-in. We ended up turning it off and just using it as wine storage. Not able to use it properly.
Where is the on/off switch? Or is there not one?
A shopper on Jul 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No switch, just plug it in and adjust your settings

Jeff G on Sep 13, 2015

Do you have any units like this where the door opens in the opposite direction?
Betsy S on Jul 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello Betsy,
At this time they are only available with right hinged.
You can take a look at out Nfinity HDX line that is available with a left hinged.
The item number is 236 02 46 03. You would call the order in @ 1-800-356-8466 and request a left hinge.

Thank you.
Is there a estimate of how much it would cost per year to operate this unit in the USA based on energy consumption? I plan to run both the top and bottom at 50°F.
yugle on Jun 15, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The energy usage of this unit is 391 kwh/year
so depending on what your energy rates are will determine your energy cost.
I see the notes on clearance for this unit. The location I want to place it will have plenty of space on the width and depth but only 3/4" clearance on the top. Will that cause any issues?

Also, is the unit shipped assembled?

Thanks for your time.
Leslie on Jun 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Unfortunately heat will rise and 3/4 " is not enough space at the top.

Jes on Jun 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The champagne bottles can fit in the wine cellar by removing a few shelves to accommodate these formats.

The ht measurement is listed at 32 1/4". Is this to the top of the hinge on the front rightt? How tall is the cabinet itself, excluding the hinge?
Jeff on Dec 8, 2014

Excellent Unit
We were looking for a wine refrigrator to store both red and white wines for near-term consumption. This unit satisfies that requirement. We like the dual cooling compartments and the dual doors. Since we sometimes drink a bottle over a two day period, we particularly like the vertical bottle storage capability. You can hear the unit run for a few minutes after a door is opened. After that brief period, the unit is very quiet.

Product was delivered in good condition, however took almost 2 weeks from the time I received an email saying that the product was shipping to when I actually was contacted by the carrier.

Great wine fridge
I use the product to keep wines chilled at the appropriate temperature. A guide comes with the refrigerator on the appropriate temperature to keep wines at if you are not familiar with them. This is very handy! Although I've only had this product for less than a month, I absolutely love it!

Works great
This is a replacement for our first wine frig (a cheap model that died after 12 months). She drinks red and I prefer whites, so we wanted dual zone. And we usually have a couple of bottles open, so upright storage is great. We don't cool 21 bottles at a time, but picked this one because it's shorter than the 18 bottle model.
Top and bottom both stay within a degree of temperature setting. As far as shelf size, I have noticed some bottles are "snug", but all fit with a little jockeying (none too long).
Once the wine is chilled, unit is quiet (you have to listen to hear it running). If you add a lot of bottles all at once, it runs hard until everything is at temp. Not a problem for us, as we keep about 6 cooled in each zone, and add as use (usually 2-3 at a time).
So far we're pleased, and hope it lasts for years.

Dual zones are great!
This cooler is easy to assemble. As I am the only wine consumer in my house, I chose to set it up to store a case of wine flat and provide stand up storage for open bottles of wine. It is perfect for my needs.

Just the right fit for us
I was looking for something small that would accommodate the limited space in our kitchen. I found it with this unit.

My wife and I are not big wine drinkers, so we don't need too much space to store what we have. The 18 bottle size allows us to remove the bottles from pur fridge and store them in a more appropriate tempature setting.

Nice and quiet too!

not 'silent'
the two zone option on this fridge is really nice and it works well, but it should not be called 'silent' because it is not. silent means no sound. it has a constant humming which is not particularly loud, but in my galley kitchen, very noticeable.
also, the instructions need to specify how much space should be allowed on all three sides and they do not. i had to google troubleshooting to see why it was not cooling down at first to find out that i needed approx. five inches of space on back and sides.
