Would this unit function appropriately in a garage if in a low humidity area. External temps can reach 100 degrees at the peak in the summer. Would be 10 degrees cooler in the garage.
John on May 7, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This unit is meant to work in a conditioned environment. The ambient temperature where the unit is located should not exceed 80 degrees.
How cool can the room be?
Susan C on Oct 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: No direct experience, but am an engineer who owned an A/C Company... Should have no issues down to at least 45F. And since anything below the temp within the cooler will cause the system to not need to run, can't imagine there would be any problems. Of course, the cooler the room the less energy the system will use...
A light is out on the LED temperature display of my new wine storage unit, the Classic XL. Is there a quick fix?
Laura S on Aug 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I can't answer that. My unit works fine. However, I can't double stack my burgundies, limiting total number of bottles.
Should I get the extended warranty?
Susan C on Oct 30, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Whether to purchase an extended warranty on any product is a common question. In my opinion, it's best to have a consistent opinion on how you personally feel about insuring the performance of a product past the original manufacturers warranty period. I, personally, do not buy extended warranties because most of the companies I purchase products from stand behind their products. I also believe that most mechanical irregularities will show up early in the life cycle of the product and should be covered under normal warranty. In the rare instance where I have an issue outside of warranty and need to pay to have something fixed, I have a pool of money available that I've saved from not buying extended warranties on other products that have not failed. I guess you can say I self insure my own purchases.
How loud is the unit compared to EuroCave and N'Finity? Can you specify the deciBel level?
Ron on Nov 21, 2013
BEST ANSWER: I have found it to be very quiet, except for a few moments when the cooling motor starts up and reaches max revolutions. Even then it is quite quiet and hardly noticeable. I have been quite satisfied with the Unit, especially as a red wine storage unit, which is why I bought this item.
how many large format bottles will it hold?
barry b on Mar 2, 2016
BEST ANSWER: We keep ours in the bottom section and would say you can probably get 10 plus magnums down there. If you have a lot you could also remove a shelf and stack them as well.
How much should a single zone130-150 bottle wine refrigerator temperature fluctuate ?
Lisa G on Sep 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: That is a great question Lisa. It really depends on the unit as not all are created equal. Many can fluctuate anywhere from 5-10 degrees from top to bottom, whereas units with both heating and cooling as well as higher insulation values (such as the EuroCave lines) have a much smaller gradient from top to bottom between 2-4 degrees. If you have further questions on any of our cellars feel free to contact a wine storage consultant at 800-356-8466 and they can assist with a personal wine storage consultation. Thank you
Can this unit be ordered with a solid door?
Wine Newbie on Sep 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I don't think so (didn't see that). The solution would be to get your cabinet maker or trim carpenter involved prior to acquisition - a faux panel could be made like a dishwasher might get for example.
What are the shelves like? Are they similar to the shelves for N'Finity or EuroCave Sommelier?
Ron on Nov 21, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Shelves are easy roll out and will handle 15 STANDARD size 750's
Some drawers allow for some double high stacking System is nice
How do I confiture this unit for maximum storage potential?
John S on Jun 14, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Use only standard Bordeaux bottles. The "300" bottles refers directly to those bottles. Use of other sized bottles will reduce the capacity because they are longer or wider.
how many rolling shelves does it come with?
Deb on May 13, 2015
The cellar comes with 9 rolling shelves.
Is this unit a single zone cellar or dual zone?
ranger on Mar 19, 2015
BEST ANSWER: This unit is a single zone cellar.
Can this unit be put into a closet space with the door removed. Does it need ventilation?
MJ on Feb 28, 2014
BEST ANSWER: This unit does need ventilation.
If the door is removed from the closet and you have ventilation behind and above the unit and the warm exhaust can get out of the closet this will work
The manual states that each shelf can hold a maximum of 55 pounds. Since this is only about 16-18 bottles, is the total capacity 160-180 bottles, or is there a way to fit more?
Scott on Jan 25, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hello Scott.
I would say you can get a minimum of 200 plus bottles depending on what style bottle.
Please call one of our Wine Cellar Specialists to further discuss @ 1-800-356-8466.
Thank you
How many shelves come with the unit?
Ellen on Nov 11, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Hello Ellen,

Willie on Aug 7, 2013
BEST ANSWER: No, the warranty is for a total of 1 year, on parts and labor from the
date of shipment, for all parts including compressor.
Does this cooler come with both a Left swing and right swing configuration?
Dave on Feb 3, 2013
BEST ANSWER: No, this cellar is not reversible since it is missing the mounting holes on the left side for both the door and the handle.
Is there humidity control in this unit?
JJ on Nov 12, 2012
Great question! The only wine cellars on the market that offer humidity control would be the EuroCave Performance line. These units will, however, cool more slowly than a standard refrigerator in turn maintaining a more consistent humidity.
I have a Wine Enthusiast Classic XL Wine Cellar. During my last move 2 of the adjustable feet were damaged. How do I order replacement parts?
Alex S on Mar 7, 2016
BEST ANSWER: The adjustable feet are not easy to change, the bottom panel would need to be removed to gain access to the feet (which are threaded and cotter pinned)
What is the height (from the floor) of the power cord connection on the back of the wine cellar?
Niko H on Feb 3, 2016
BEST ANSWER: It's 12"+/- 1". The reason for the 2" of uncertainty: My fridge is already backed up against the wall so I couldn't get a clear visual when I put the tape measure next to the cord. I didn't measure how high the fridge is standing on the leveling feet. It may sit a little lower if you don't use them. Hope this helps.
Is it possible to replace a broken glass door (outside pane)?
Mark on Jun 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It is possible to replace the entire door. Please give us a call if you would like to do so at 1-800-356-8466.
How long is the power cord for this model?
Strider on Apr 24, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The power cord is 5 ft.
We have a 29 inch door opening into the room we want to locate the refrigerator. Can this unit fit into this opening if the frigerator door is removed? Can the refrigerator door be easily removed and what is the width of the door?
Connie on Mar 1, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello Connie,
I would think if the door is removed it should make it. However, please confirm with our Technical department @ 1-800-648-6058 Option #2 if that can be done.
Thank you
can i replace the cabinet feet with casters?
don on Oct 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: We do not recommend adding casters to any of our wine units. With that being said, if you do need to elevate or put wheels. we would advise contructing some type of metal frame to support the weight.
can you tell me exactly (within 1/8") how much height and width clearance the door needs to fully open? I have a closet that is 96"h x 43"d x 37"w but the door opening is about 79 1/2 high x 32" wide.
Biff on Oct 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hello Biff,
I recommend confirming specific air clearance requirements with out Technical department. You can reach them at 1-800-648-6058 option #2.
Thank you
When properly installed, is there any vibration, however slight, to the bottled wine?
Ken on Oct 14, 2014
BEST ANSWER: These units are not vibration free but have little vibration which should not hinder the wine too much.
Can you buy/add additional shelves?
Jonathan on Oct 13, 2014
BEST ANSWER: You cannot buy or add extra shelves to the Giant cellar.
How much space needs to be allotted from wall with door fully open?
BBQ on Jan 13, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Approximately 64 " - This unit requires a 2" air space behind the unit.
Can this be used in a garage in Dallas, Texas?
Bob on Sep 3, 2013
BEST ANSWER: The wine cellar should be placed in a location where the ambient temperature is between
60-77 degrees Fahrenheit. If the ambient temperature is above or below this range, the performance of the unit may
be affected. I would advise against putting this in your garage. Your best bet is to go with a Eurocave.
How long is the electric cord?
Neil on Aug 6, 2013
BEST ANSWER: approximately 4 ft.

Very Good Wine Refrigerator
This is a very good wine refrigerator that provides excellent value. The unit is very attractive.

Note that there is about 9 or 10 degrees variation between the top and the bottom. I set my thermostat to 54 degrees and the middle shelves are rock-solid 55 degrees. The bottom averages 50 degrees, the top averages 60 degrees. In any case, the temperature is very stable for any given shelf and that is the most important point. I put my wines that will age the longest in the middle shelves and don't worry about it. If you want more uniformity, you will need to pay much more and get one of the units with circulating fans.

The shelves are difficult to adjust. I carefully planned where I wanted to put each of my wines and started from the bottom. That way, I only had to move the shelves once. Like all wine storage units, you will have to leave more or less space between shelves depending on the bottle size. Bordeaux bottles are the most well behaved and fit very efficiently. Some bottles are larger and need more space between shelves. If you plan carefully, you will get the most out of your unit. I have 252 bottles in mine using all 10 shelves and still have room for a couple more bottles. I have a mix of mostly red wines of many different varietals.

The noise level is fine; about what you would expect from a refrigerator. Mine is in my home office. I noticed it once in awhile at first but no longer notice.

Adequate, but many limitations
The "white glove" service was poor: 3 men in a rented truck could not initially figure out how to get the unit into our home; scuffs and wall dings were left on the floors and walls. These are not professional movers, and to advertise the delivery as anything other than risky is incorrect.

Excellent Cellar
The first cellar I received was damaged in shipment. Within a couple days a second cabinet was on its way. It was delivered in perfect condition and the damaged cellar was removed. It all happened quickly with no hassles

Nice unit, POOR delivery!
Delivery was a pain...not prompt ,not on time....unit took too long to get here and the company went to the wrong delivery address then the delivery driver did not call to verify delivery addresss, then drove the unit back to its warehouse 200 miles away. I was FUMING MAD! I took the time off to wait at the house recieve this unit. ONCE delivery occurred, the set up was fine.

The unit is great....but the time and method of delivery was HORRIBLE.

Nice Addition
Delivery was fast and friendly. They arrived about 45 minutes after the 30 minute window they gave me, but I didn't mind. They were there and gone in 15 minutes.

everything I asked for
delivery couldn't have been better, the guys overcame some space issues and got the cooler exactly where I wanted without a scratch

only drawback is it held only ten cases, stacking two cases on the bottom shelf, without rearranging shelves.

Great for home winemakers
For home winemakers this unit is a much better option than attempting to build a wine room with adequate cooling in south Texas. It needs to be in climate controlled space, and although it has only a single temperature, that works well for maintaining the optimum aging temperature of 55 degrees. Humidity control may be a problem, but it's not clear that it will be. The shelves work best with standard Bordeaux bottles. Other shapes don't stack well unless the selves are moved apart which reduces capacity. Standard hock and California Cab bottles catch on the shelf above so care is needed when closing the shelf unless it is repositioned. The bottom shelf doesn't extend so getting tubs to stack bottles in is required. The unit is pretty quiet. All in all this is a good unit and I'd buy it again.
