What is the actual capacity of these coolers? A reviewer of them states the actual capacity is 400 bottles not the 500 to 600 listed. Which is correct? Why is there so much variation?
Bradjohn9 on Mar 28, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Partial answer to the variation is the shape of the bottle. Another aspect is that shelves are deep so depending on your stacking skills you can easily get two rows on each shelf. Additionally there is plenty of space to put another two rows on top so that you have, in essence, four rows of bottles on each shelf. We have never counted, but neither have we run out of space for our collection. Currently we believe we can get about 600 bottles in ours. 300 per unit. Hope this helps.
What brand cooling unit does this chiller come with? Koolspace? KoolR? Thanks
robert 1968 on Nov 9, 2015
BEST ANSWER: We use our own private branded compressors in these models.
What is the decibel level for the giant 600?
Jen on Sep 17, 2014
39 decibels (Quiet fridge sound level)

Thank you.
would this fridge be okay running in a cellar at 55 degrees? I would like to use this to keep wine lower at 45 degrees.
l g on Dec 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I have had two of these units for about 1 1/2 years. I keep the setting at 50 degrees and they stay between 48 and 51 degrees constantly. Sometimes the temperature readout switches from English to Metric on its own, but the temperature stays the same. The temperature in the room where the units are is 65 to 70 degrees. I think you should have no problem.
Does it work for long bottles?
Regina A on Aug 21, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Yes, Regina: The shelf length will accommodate two regular sized bottles end-to-end, or one long bottle. Charlene S.
Does this model have an angled plug or a straight plug?
J D on Nov 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello Paul,
It is a straight plug.
Thank you.
Can more shelves be added to these units?
Benito D on Sep 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello Benito,
Unfortunately, you cannot add additional shelves to this cellar.
You can add more rolling shelves to our Eurocave models.
Please take a look at the Double Pure model number 268 50 01 5X.

Thank you.
With the Giant 600, it looks like two side-by-side 300-bottle units. Are each side capable of different temperatures?
Mike on Aug 25, 2013
BEST ANSWER: Hello Mike,
Yes, that is correct. This is two separate Giant 259 units, one with a left hinge and the other with a right hinge. Each unit can be independently temperature controlled.
Thank you
how easy is it to remove the shelves. we have a lot of boxes that hold opus one to put in this wine cellar
Susan on Apr 7, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Thank you for your inquiry. To remove the shelves, use the clips that are on each side of the shelf. It's a fairly simple process but you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to us at 800 356 8466. Thank you again.
Does the Giant 600 come in two side by side units? I want to make sure it could fit through the door of my storage room, which is a standard 36" size door.
Rose on Feb 9, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, correct. Two units side by side. 2 plugs
I'd like to avoid heating the room containing the unit. Larger wine cellar coolers can heat the room where they discharge heated air. Does this heat exchange discharge at the upper back? Structurally, is the discharge vent made so it could readily be captured with duct work, to be directed outdoors?
Kenyakid on Jan 10, 2016
BEST ANSWER: These units discharge heat at the bottom back of the units. They are not readily made to discharge into duct work.
Can this be used inside a pantry? I am worried about the heat and air recirculating inside a small closed room/closet
Ross j on Sep 18, 2015
BEST ANSWER: you should put in 2 door louvers, 1 high, 1 low as the hot air has to get out into the air conditioned space
Also I wanted to know, is there a faster shipping speed rather than after Sep 24th? Can it be around 20-22nd?
Phoebus D on Sep 13, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Shipping for all of our larger units are approximately two weeks. If you need faster delivery, feel free to call us direct at 800 356 8466.
What is the warranty?
Geo on Jan 25, 2015
1 year parts and labor. We offer a 5 year double warranty for $499.
Thank you
Our wine room has wood floors and I'm concerned about the total weight of this unit when it is full. How much does it weigh fully loaded with approx 500 bottles. What does the bottom (feet) look like? Are their installation considerations for the weight of the unit?
Jeff on Dec 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Each wine bottle weighs 3 lbs. We have not heard of any structural issues regards weight loads unless there are multiple units in high rises. If there are further concerns, I would check with an engineer but our units are designed to distribute the weight evenly throught the cabinet and footprint of the product.
Are wine bottles packed "two-deep" on each shelf? How much does capacity decrease if collection includes both Bordeaux and Burgundy style bottles?
Lyle on Nov 24, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Hello Lyle,
Yes, bottles are two deep.
I would say bottle capacity can decrease by about 15-20% if using mainly Bordeaux and Burgundy style bottles.
Does the Giant 600 offer humidity controls?
D on Aug 31, 2014
BEST ANSWER: No there is no humidity control on the Giant 600 however it does slow cool so it will not dry out the air like a refrigerator
How much clearance do I need around the unit (installed)? We are thinking of putting this in a closet-like space and need to know the dimensions of space required before purchasing. Thanks!
Faz on Feb 16, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Approximately 2 inches of air space on the top , back and sides. Please call 1-800-377-3330 and a storage consultant will help you determine if this is a good option for your space and if the size will work.
Can this be used in a garage?
Scb on Nov 13, 2013
BEST ANSWER: This product does not specify being made to work in temperatures below freezing, so if your garage gets cold in the winter it might not work.

Not overwhelmed
I have tried hard to stuff as many bottles in as possible but my maximum is less than 400 bottles, a whole lot less than the 500 advertised.
It is pretty noisy as well.

Good Storage for the Price
The product does hold the amount indicated and is a good price for what it is. One note that should be taken is that when they do cool down they are slightly on the louder side so if you plan on having this in an area where people are regularly you might want to rethink. So far I have been very happy with them and they have maintained the 57 degree temperature in an environment that sometimes reaches 77

Works well but...
This unit works well for the storage I need.
It came with two great delivery guys who didn't have the equipment needed to move it well and didn't know how to run it.
One of the doors needed adjustment, not easy to figure out.
The two guys did great to get the units where they needed to go without any damage to anything but themselves. Great guys.
Upfront/install/delivery could use some polish.

note much thought went into the electronic controls
poor engineering of controls. the temp set points revert to defaults settings when there is a power outage, and where i live we get power outages once a week. the unit runs almost continuously (in a room with temp at 70F). i expect the unit will fail when summer gets here and temps get high. the unit makes too much noise when running, not a good thing inside the main dinning area. it seems the insulation of unit may not be up to the task and the refrigeration motor has to make up for poor insulation design.
