What is the difference between the 46 Classic and the 46 Pro HDX? They both appear to have stainless steal doors, dual zones and hold the same amount of bottles. I read the HDX has a stainless door, but so does the 46 Classic.
Josie on Jun 14, 2016
The description states 46-bottle capacity - but if you look at the pictures and scroll over the shelves, I can only see capacity for a maximum of 6-bottles per shelf (bordeaux size) and there are only 6-shelves so that makes a maximum of 36 bottles. can you send me a picture showing 46 bottles stored in this unit?
Geordie on Feb 21, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Hello Geordie,
The shelving is double deep allowing for the bottles to interlock.
Thank you
add an additional 1" on the hinge side to allow door to open lightly more than 45 degrees. does that mean you need a one inch gap between the fridge and the side of the cabinet? or drawers set back an inch to allow the hinges to swing the door open
chris coyle on Nov 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Whatever side you choose to have the door swing, we ask that you have some added clearance.
Will this fit in a 24" cabinet space? Still confused about it, as it appears it is a half inch too wide. Does this just mean that the trim overhangs the cabinet by 1/4 on either side?
p W on Oct 2, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The unit is 23 3/4" wide and is made to be built in.The overall built in dimensions are noted as well. That being said, if you pull the unit out so the door thickness protrudes out then this will allow the 1/2 " necessary for the hinge and the shelves to roll out. Also remember the unit should be able to pull out completely if necessary.
How much noise does the unit make, in decibels?
G on Jan 31, 2015
BEST ANSWER: approximately 39 decibels
Does this product have a warrenty?
chris coyle on Nov 15, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes, this 46 bottle comes with a 1 year warranty and added warranties can be purchased as well.
Can you tell me what is the difference between this product and the HDX-46? I am looking at a starting model
Andrew on Nov 10, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The N'Finity HDX offers a lock & key and a full seamless stainless trim around the door.
A quiet running Cellar is important and how would the compressor noise be rated in this unit?
GA on Nov 4, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Decibel level on this unit is between 39-41.
Does it have a lock?
Koushyar K on Feb 27, 2016
BEST ANSWER: Hello Koushyar,
Yes, it is located on at the bottom air flow plate.
Thank you.
Can the curved door handle be replaced with a straight bar?
Karin V on Dec 23, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I can't specifically answer that question because I got a curved handle, but I don't know why not if the holes for attachment would line up. I am very happy with my wine cellar which I use in my new cellar to keep my white wines at a lower temperature than my reds.
Does it hold champagne bottles?
William C on Jan 19, 2017
BEST ANSWER: The shelves are spaced at 3.25 inches so if you have a champagne that is less than that in diameter it will hold it with out having to remove shelves.
what is max temperature difference between zones ?
Larry Z on Dec 29, 2015
BEST ANSWER: I like to set my whites at 40* (upper) and my reds at 56* (lower). However, the largest difference the unit is capable of keeping is around 8* F. My whites stay around 40*, but the reds don't usually get up above 48* F. If you flipped the zones (higher temp on top), you might get a 9 or 10* difference but I haven't tested this theory yet. Hope this helps.
How do I install the handle?
Annie on Jul 26, 2016
BEST ANSWER: it bolts in from the inside of the door. You can put it on either side.
Does this unit have adjustable feet? Also what is the difference between Dimensions and Built in Dimensions?
Marshall on May 5, 2015
BEST ANSWER: It does have adjustable feet but they are more for minor leveling of the unit.
The built in dimensions are the dimensions needed if you are recessing into cabinetry or placing under a counter.
Do I need to do anything to the shelves to make them pull out further? As of now, the shelves barley come halfway out and I can't access any bottles on the back row. I have to take the front bottles out.
KT on Mar 27, 2015
BEST ANSWER: The shelves on the 46 bottle are not telescopic so you will either need to lift up on the shelf to get it past the stopper or take out the bottle in the front.
Is there any way to get the door to be left hinged?
Donna on Mar 17, 2015
BEST ANSWER: We do sell units that have left hinged doors. The classic 46 only offers a right hinge door.
What is the estimated number of bottles per zone?
Steve on Feb 10, 2015
BEST ANSWER: Approximately 16 bottles at the top and 30 at the bottom. This will depend on the bottle sizes.
Does this unit provide humidity control? Either way, what is the average humidity in this unit?
KaliB on Dec 28, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Unlike a refrigerator this unit slow cools so it will not dry out the air and will maintain the humidity that is in your home. This should keep from 40-70%. If you are in an extremely dry climate like Arizona,Colorado & Nevada you may want to put a small tray of water or purchase a humidity box to help with humidity
With the Digital Thermostatic control, do you open the door or is it touch screen like the HDX model?
Alex on Dec 28, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The thermostat is located inside the fridge and not on the door so you will have to open the door to access it.
Are the shelves adjustable?
Lauren on Dec 10, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The shelves in the 46 Classic wine cellar are not adjustable. They can be removed to accommodate larger bottles if you like.
Is this a compressor cooled unit or thermoelectric.
Patty on Nov 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: This a compressor unit.
What is the exact cut out that is needed to install this system?

It says 24.5 in deep is 24.5 in deep including the protruding handle?

Do you require 1 in clearance in the back ? This will make it 25.5 in counterspace is exactly 24 in deep......please advise.
jeff on Nov 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: We find that in these built in applications, the handle can be proud(stick out) beyond the cabinetry and you will still achieve your desired look.
Any chance of getting this before Christmas?
Dani on Nov 8, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Since this item is due to us around December 15th, it would be very difficult to guarantee this item to arrive before Christmas. We do have a Cellar Under the Tree Program where we can include a picture of the unit and have it gift boxed for you.
Does this wine cellar fit in standard 24" counter space? In your spec, it says "Built-In Wine Cellar Dimensions as 24.5W. Will I be able to slide it in a 24" cabinet slot?
Also, is the installation simple as slide-in? Do I need professional help?
Don on Nov 6, 2014
BEST ANSWER: The recommend dimensions for built-in on the Classic 46 are as follows: 34- 1/2” H X 24- 1/2” W X 26- 1/2”D. The slide in application does not require professional assistance.
I notice you have some silent models. Do you have a silent version of this model? If not, is this one designed to be quiet?
Andrea on Nov 4, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes this is quiet and runs approximately 39 decibels.
Does this wine cooler require space to be left around the unit for ventilation?
E on Oct 27, 2014
BEST ANSWER: This can be built in fully, it is recommended that you leave a t least 1" behind and add an additional 1" on the hinge side to allow door to open lightly more than 45 degrees.
Is this unit front venting? I am replacing a built in wine cooler that the compressor has died on twice in 6 years. The space is 23.75in wide and cannot be expanded. It is 34.5 in high
o on Oct 23, 2014
BEST ANSWER: Yes this unit is front venting.
I received your fall 14 WE catalog. On page 5, the 92 bottle nfinity pro 92/4 zone wine cooler is showcased.

Online, I cannot find the compatible 46 bottle units the 92 bottle unit is comprised of…because there are no reversible door swings on the 46 bottle units on the site.

I'd love to get the 92 bottle unit (2 46 bottle units) but ONLY if the doors open on alternating sides.
Tell me exactly where this product is. Need the real specs.
Jenny on Oct 11, 2014

Nice looking unit
Looks nice and is reasonably priced. Dual zone works poorly and maximum temperature difference that can be maintained between the two zones is only about 3 degrees. Called customer service to get it repaired. Was told I would be contacted by a local repair company within two days for this to be fixed. That was two weeks ago. Will be contacting customer service again this week, as this was not followed up on.

Works, for a while
Like it for a year or so then started failing. Once it finally gave out after 2 years, couldn't get replacement parts.

Great wine fridge!
We ordered this wine fridge to replace one we had gotten from Wine Enthusiast 10 years ago, which was not an under the counter style. I am pleased with how it functions, but was disappointed in how it was packaged. The box was damaged, the styrofoam inside the box was broken, and there are two dents in the back of the wine fridge. We noted the damaged box on the delivery slip and I sent a message with pictures to customer service just to note my disappointment, after being a customer of Wine Enthusiast for many years. I received no reply. I hope the damage is only surface and will not affect how well or how long this wine fridge will work.

Its fine
I was really excited about this - seemed like a great product for a fraction of the cost of the sub zero we were replacing. But the shelves are flimsy and don't pull out nearly far enough. The temp seems good, the interior light is cool and the it's quiet.

Just OK
Had it installed a couple weeks ago. It looks OK, the price is OK, and it functions OK. The only complaint is that the shelves are flimsy and do not slide out. Also, hoping it lasts at least 3 years.

Storage for my whites in new cellar
I bought this cellar specifically to store whites in a new cellar I built. I store my reds at around 60 degrees and keep my whites at 50 in this cellar. I had it built into my cabinets and it looks great in my cellar. Very happy with it!

Not as good as some of the reviews
The unit is very appealing in looks; however, the unit is very loud. I had planned to place in a living area, but it continues to cycle at a very loud humming noise. Performance so far is OK

A Gem for the Small Collection
This is a functional and visually appealing unit that works well for the small collection or as a backup to a larger cellar. The dual-zone temperature control treats whites and reds as separate entities--no compromises. Controls are intuitive and easy to use. Shelving slides forward to allow easy access. A great purchase!

Lovin my wine fridge
It was delivered ahead of schedule and with no dents. I had to attach the door handle which was easy and it was ready to go. The fridge holds the right temperature for the top and bottom. It's not 100% silent but compared to my refrigerator, it's fine. The display of my bottles look great when I turn on the blue led lights. The unit hardly throws off any heat which is also a plus. I would highly recommend this.
