Does the kit include glue? I see one comment says that the kits no longer include glue? If not, why? And what glue do you recommend?

  The kit does not include glue. The manufacturer recommends a hot glue gun but they state that standard white or wood glue works as well.

I gave this as a gift to my brother and his wife as a house-warming gift for their first home. The instructions sent with the product were easy to follow. It mentioned using hot glue. I tried both Elmer's and hot glue. The Elmer's worked great when dry; however it took a couple of days to dry. The hot glue was easy, but within a day or so, the corks started popping off from the board. I had to let my brother know they would have to glue back any loose ones. (So maintenance comes with the gift! :) ) I would recommend using contact cement, gorilla glue, or Crazy Glue to get the corks to stick better.

The picture on the front of the box shows all the corks fitting perfectly in, but the dimensions are off. If it were a half an inch smaller, the corks would fit much better and there would be no need to cut some in half lengthwise and widthwise. The tiny picture on the back shows that you need to cut the corks in order to make them fit.

I made a smaller trivet for a friend, and she asked me to make her a larger one, so I bought this. I am not very crafty, so this was difficult for me. It was hard to make the corks fit. I had to cut several of them, and you need a very sharp knife. However, it came out beautifully and I am sure my friend will love it when I give it to her.
