This is unique gift. There are tons of cork kits that are just mounted on wood bases. This is nice because it uses an old wine barrel hoop. Gave it to my husband for Christmas. He already made his cork design. We just need to get a glue gun to set the corks. We will hang this in our home bar.

The catalog photo is accurate, but for the price, I expected something a bit more elaborate. The backing doesn't even have a center mark or grid or anything which might make laying out your corks less of an exercise in design. I really regret I didn't simply go down to my shop and make my own frame from a real barrel slice. Pretty sure for the cost I could have fashioned something more attractive.

It is a pretty way to display corks from wine that you've had but there are no instructions, no glue and no info on how to hang included with the kit. It's just the wine barrel ring with plywood in it.

I purchased this to be used as a bulletin board. The barrel hoop is heavy, but with proper anchoring, it should serve well as a conversation piece and bulletin board. This takes a lot of corks - up to 150!

I originally wanted to use this as a wall hanging or serving tray. But, it is so heavy we are considering adding legs and a glass top to make a bistro type table out of it. Not a bad thing just a different idea
