I have used the Vinturi several times.
It does a good job of adding air to the wine as it pours. I still think the wine needs time to breathe after using the Vinturi, but the product does help and cuts down on the aeration time.

However, it is somewhat awkward to use. When pouring, and the instructions mention this, wine will come out of the holes that let in the air. You must be very careful to have the Vinturi over your glass or carafe when pouring and be careful of your pour speed.

Also, it is not easy to clean sediment out of the center, although with enough washing it does clean.

We have been back and forth on this product as the first one that we received appeared to have a crack in it that ran from the aerator hole in a curved line up about an inch (both sides!). [...] The product itself of course works well, all the wineries have them for tastings and they make a difference for those with a little more refined pallet.If you are presenting this as a gift, beware, your recipient may think that you gave/sent them a defective product!**We double checked the product catalog and did not see the crack, however the new product catalog (sent with the second shipment) appears to be updated as you can see the "faint" crack in the product photo.

Family routine with new red wine: Set up two glasses. Pour wine directly from the bottle into the first glass (Not through the aerator). Then, pour the wine into the second glass through the aerator. Taste both glasses immediately. Family and guests love this, as they experience immediately the effects of decanting and the potential of the wine. It becomes unthinkable to drink red wine direct from the bottle without aeration or decanting. The wine becomes even better if the bottle is aerated and also poured into a decanter before drinking.

I don't drink wine, but my wife does nightly. The great reviews made me, normally quite skeptical, purchase this for her. She honestly can tell the difference and claims it works great. She's happy = I'm happy.

We did a blind test with four different individuals using the same wine, one glass aerated and the other not. All four individuals thought the aerated wine tasted better. With did the test with cheap wine and a nice quality wine. The aerated wine won every time. This device is worth the money.

I bought 5 more since the original purchase so I can give it to others. With some wines the difference is small but noticeable, with others the difference is night and day. With every wine I now use it.

I used to not enjoy red wine; it was too "sharp-edged" for me. When my friend poured me a glass of Cab through this Vinturi gadget, it was a whole new experience! It was smoother and less acidic on the tongue. I enjoy using mine now.
We love to watch folks watch it work; the gurgle always delights people.

I live alone and aerating an entire bottle of wine is not always practical, nor is guessing ahead of time how much I will drink. This aerator is perfect for home use as well as it being compact enough to put in my purse for restaurant use.

I first saw this product in Napa at well known winery. I bought it for my brother in law and we did a side by side comparison with the same wine. We tasted one without using the Aerator and one after we used the Aerator, we all concluded that the wine tasted better using the Aerator. A great gift or purchase for yourself! The only drawback I can see is that the holder does get a bit full and you have to empty on occasion. No biggy.

I've done several test tastings with the Aerator. I decant all of my reds so I'm a big believer in the theory behind this product. I think it makes a difference, but not much. It's fun to watch and really adds the air - you can see the bubbles mixed in as it pours out, but I really can't taste & smell much difference between using this and pouring the bottle into a decanter and immediately pouring a glass. I was hoping this would replace a longer decanting time. Therefore, I'm not convinced it's worth the price. If you don't have a decanter, this serves the same purpose but doesn't take up the room. However, I'd recommend you get a decanter before this product.
