System works well with small caveats
This wine preservation system generally works well with some caveats.

1.) The stopper doesn't fit larger neck bottles (~20% of the wine we drink)
2.) It can take a little bit of effort to attain maximum suction, especially with bottles that only have a small amount of wine left. Sometimes you have to get the angle of the pumper just right to maximize the suction.
3.) The stoppers do break (come apart at the top) but I never had the problems others mentioned. If you twist the stopper as you remove or insert it and run it under hot water to soften the rubber before inserting I never had a problem with the rubber breaking off (in 3 years of regular use).

The suction you can get is much better than competing products (=longer storage of wine) and the gauge is a plus.

Overall a good wine preservation system.

V-Gauge Wine Preserver Stoppers
This is a very good device, but you have to be very careful with the seal wins, they break and then it becomes useless.
The problem is that not all the bottles have the same mouth size, so do not force it in a tight mouth bottle, it will brake the seal, looks to me that it needs more rubber and reduce the diameter a little bit, I have lost two of them, but they work fine now in narrow mouth bottles.

problems with stoppers
2 problems have emerged in my use of the V guage stoppers
1. the product does not last long; the threads wear off quickly
2. the stoppers only fit well on some bottles, but not bottles with slightly larger neck

doesn't work!!!
It looks and sounds good but doesn't work period. You'll be pumping for hours to see the needle moving. I threw them away.- totally frustrated!

Works well but doesn't last
The wine stoppers have a very short life span. The ribs on the stopper neck, which create the vacum seal, tear after about 8-10 uses making them useless. To bad as the rest of the system parts work well.

Easy and effective
This is really effective in preserving your wine. The best feature is that you don't have to replace it.
