| EuroCave. No other wine cellar in the world is as technologically equipped to protect the taste, longevity, and value of your wine. For every extreme condition that poses a threat to wine's delicate makeup—excessive temperature, light, humidity, or vibration—EuroCave has an answer. For a more detailed explanation of the following, download The Guide to EuroCave. |
Temperature
The optimal temperature for storing wine is between 50 and 57° F. Wines kept at higher temperatures will age
prematurely, robbing them of freshness and subtlety, while lower temperatures paralyze wine, inhibiting its
natural development.
EuroCave is the only wine cellar in the world to automatically heat up or cool down in response to ambient temperature, assuring your wine is stored in the ideal conditions at all times. EuroCave's Twin Process Thermal Regulation System makes temperature corrections to ensure your wines improve with time. This temperature control system is fitted with high-precision sensors so optimal conditions can be achieved whatever the outside temperature. The stone-relief aluminum walls of the wine cabinet also allow an even distribution of temperature throughout the cabinet, unlike commercial refrigerators equipped with plastic isolating walls. |
Light
Long-term exposure to light prematurely ages and damages wine. EuroCave's solid or U.V.-protected glass
doors, together with its Cellular Quality Insulation, guard against the harmful effects of light and heat. |
Humidity
Maintaining the proper humidity level is essential if corks are to retain their sealing capability and prevent
oxidation. Prolonged exposure to oxygen and ultimately spoil a good wine.
The natural ventilation of EuroCave wine cellars allows condensation to form on the aluminum walls of the cabinet, producing the correct humidity for the preservation of your wines. Air circulation is ensured by 2 openings located at the top and bottom of the cabinet, creating an air flow through the effect of pressure. The opening that lets air into the cabinet is protected by a charcoal filter to purify the air and prevent the intrusion of unpleasant smells. The renewal of air within the cabinet is also essential to prevent mold formation, which develops rapidly in a humid environment. To ensure optimal hygrometry, the natural humidity in the air must be captured and redistributed equally throughout the cabinet: that is the role of the stone-relief aluminum walls, which are highly conductive. The double glazing on the EuroCave doors also prevents misting and excessive condensation from forming on the glass. |
Vibration
Moving wine bottles too often is harmful to good wine preservation. Vibration interferes with the biochemical
process of wine maturation and is often fatal to the best wines. Therefore, the best wine cabinets are designed
to house the greatest possible number of bottles of all sizes, and built to keep harmful vibrations to a minimum.
Unlike standard wine cabinets designed by household appliance manufacturers, the specific dimensions of the EuroCave wine cabinet have been especially designed to house bottles. The EuroCave shelves (sliding, adjustable, and presentation) are tailor-made solutions to the problem of varying bottle sizes and shapes and offer optimum storage capacity. Designed to carry a considerable weight in bottles, the body of EuroCave wine cabinets is reinforced with a steel framework and a stiffener (for higher capacity models). This prevents any risk of cabinet deformation. The considerable inertia of the cabinet also limits impact from outside vibration. EuroCave compressors are carefully selected for their perfect balance, and are separated from the cabinet casing by being mounted on an independent support fitted with “silent blocks.” In addition, all EuroCave shelves are mounted on rubber blocks and slide on rollers to prevent vibration as they are moved. |
