We use these all the time so we bought a few for family. It turns out that these work better with some dishwashers than others. First, your dishwasher should have dense enough bottom grid or pins so the glasses don't slip down and get hit by the rotating bar (our problem). The instructions suggest putting the clips on each glass and then threading them on the holder stem. That is necessary for very large bowl glasses or for dishwashers with lots of immovable "pins" sticking up from the bottom grate. For smaller glasses, you can keep the holder assembled and attach the glasses directly in place, which is easier and faster. Also, we found that for taller glasses, the whole system works better if you raise all the clips an inch or two using a piece of tygon or rubber tubing between (under) the clips and the holder stem. This solves the problem of taller, slimmer glasses falling through large dishwasher grates. We just bought a more holders so we have a couple with and without the tubing to cover our mix of glasses. We now have enough to do all the glasses after a party in one gentle, reduced detergent cycle. These holders pay for themselves now that our rate of breakage is lower than even with hand washing--particularly when hand washing occurs right after enjoying the contents.

While our top dishwasher rack contains a stemware holder, it's useless for our long stemware. This product ensures that the glasses and washed, rinsed, and dried properly without any rings or stains. Fantastic.

the old enamel coated wire racks were great. bring them back. these plastic things are ridiculous.

This was a replacement for a mini-rack device that wore thru the rubber cover and rusted in many places.

By contrast, this device has nothing that can rust.
It is not hard to use, but takes some fussy adjustments to get the arms to link with the base stem and get everything to fit around other dishes.
