The Riedel Vinum Extreme Wine Glass series pushes the boundaries of glassware. Riedel combines a dazzling oversized bowl with a unique angular look and an extra-tall stem to create a wine glass that is as beautiful to look at as it is to drink from.See More Product Details
I always wondered whether or not wine actually tastes better in finer glassware and now I know. This is like an entire different universe. I am tasting some of my favorite wines as if for the first time, with many added dimensions. I love the sheer size as well as the shape of these glasses. They are delicate----but not too much so. Highly recommended
We purchased two of these just to see what they were like and now end up using them almost all the time. They are well balanced and don't seem awkward. Even though they are significantly larger than normal large format glasses, they don't seem oversize or difficult to handle. In fact, they almost seem a bit more intimate in terms of our interaction with the wine. They fit well in our dishwasher and have survived quite a fews washings so far, although we have learned to be careful with Riedels. They are beautiful, but delicate!
I love this glass. It makes drinking big California cabernets that much better. The angular design focuses the wine to accentuate it. Only bad thing is after about a year, they develop marks in the glass (not watermarks), not sure if it's the lead in the glass or not.
We previously owned the Riedel Vinum Extreme and they got broken. Love our glasses. And always buy through W.E.! They treat you right. One glass arrived with a tiny crack- replaced no questions asked, and no hassle. Thank you Riedel and thank you Wine Enthusiast!
These are our favorite special wine glasses for just the two of us. The roomy bowl gives lots of air to the wine and the delicate rim puts the wine on just the right place on your tonge. They are very elegant appearing.
These are great glasses, though the bowl and stem are thin, delicate crystal. That's part of what makes them so attractive. I've broken a couple by barely tapping against the faucet. Still I highly recommend them. Run under hot water to clean. No soap.
I was skeptical at first that these glasses (and the price) were worth it. After a wine trip to Temecula, I know it was well worth it. The wide bowl provides so much more nose than other glasses, helping to open the wine up. These glasses made me a believer in glasses making a difference in the experience.
While cruising with friends recently we were introduced to these glasses... We couldn't wait to get home and order our very own.... what a difference the proper glass makes when enjoying our favorite Cabernet or Merlot.
I was given two of these wine glasses as a gift in 2009, and did not use them for a couple years. Last year after using them for the first time, I was hooked. I searched for a source to get additional glasses (6 - 10 more), and then stored my old wine glasses. They do have to be handled with care, but the light weight, balance, and unique attractiveness is worth it! Highly recommended by a cab lover.
Beware that the base is bigger than most when stored hanging. Also, for some reason, the thin lip is not as smooth as other wine goblets we have (both far less expensive and far more expensive). I actually cut my hand reaching in to clean out some sediment.
