Make no mistake, the assembly can be frustrating, tedious and difficult. I was prepared to work a bit, but getting started with the initial few rows and dollys was an exercise in frustration. The fit of the dollys is very snug against the racks; which is good for overall sturdiness, but difficult to manage with your hands as you get started.
Once built, it does feel sturdy and looks nice. The fit of some larger bottles is quite snug, so you may run into some scraping of labels.
Overall, I would recommend it based on the reasonable price, but just be prepared for a tedious assembly.
This is an attractive and sturdy wine rack that provides the most efficient use of space of any rack that I have seen. Assembly was more difficult than I expected but still did not take me very long. Assembly requires attention to detail and patience but you are rewarded with a very attractive rack that feels quite solid and takes up an absolute minimum of space.
Rack looks very nice and can be used in a variety of rooms. I'm using in my cellar. This is the best place in my home for wine storage. Assembly was a challenge. Directions are vague with inadequete description and suggestions for each step.
Used for home wine storage. Bottom row not easily accessible. Just purchased the second one to hold the expanding wine collection.
A good size to store a modest number of bottles. This took 2 people, over an hour and lots of muscle to put together. I would not order this again.
Very nice looking and sturdy. Once you get the hang of angling in the wood blocks it will assemble rather quickly. Do not be afraid to use a little force to get the blocks in as you may think they are not properly aligned when if fact they might be.
Does take some time to assemble properly, a good flat surface helps. I never did get it perfectly square, it's still just a bit off, but very functional.
Worth the effort

Combined with the 30 bottle kit, this made a good solution for under the basement stairs wine storage for our usual stock of 40 to 50 bottles of wine. The only downside - it was more difficult and took longer than expected to put together.
Did not find an instruction sheet identifying numbers of parts supplied nor assembly. Laid out parts and found assembly instructions on the side of carton, which were accurate.
After inserting first timber piece the rest followed easily with a little effort. It was fun to put together and patience is required lining up the slots for the timber. A good flat surface is helpful for assembly.
It looks great, the measurements are accurate and I placed the rack inside a kitchen cupboard.
This Bordex 40 Bottle Wine Rack Kit, should be referred to as 40 or 42 Bottle. I laid it on it's side and have 42 bottle storage. Two additional sleeves to protect the bottle neck would have been great.
For a kit Wine Rack I believe this is great value for money!

The rack keeps our bottles, out of boxes and out of the way. We Love It. Will be expanding it very soon.
When I saw this rack on the site, I knew that I had found the perfect wine rack for my townhouse.
However, the assembly went less than perfect, and even though the wine rack is put together well and efficiently, it's hard to get it all completely uniform and perfect.
If minor imperfections don't bother you, don't hesitate to buy this rack!
If you're a perfectionist this may not be the rack for you unless you want to spend hours trying to get everything to line up JUST right.
