Great rack with a minor problem
By Ms. MerlotVerified Purchaser from Browntown, VA on 1/27/2008
Pros:
Attractive Design, Efficient Use of Space, Good Capacity, Holds Bottles Securely
Cons:
rear cross bar problem
Best Uses:
Wine Cellar Storage
Describe Yourself:
Practical
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Am using the rack for wine cellar storage. Great looking and overall is a sturdy product, however the directions for rear cross bar and placement will not work. This was minor and I was able to correct it with different placement of stabilizing bar on rear of rack.

Low cost per bottle
By Cheese with that, sir?Verified Purchaser from America's corn bin on 1/8/2008
Pros:
Efficient Use of Space, Good Capacity
Cons:
Bottles Slip Out
Best Uses:
Wine Cellar Storage
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Easy assembly except that the holes for the metal cross braces weren't drilled; easy enough to correct with electric drill.

The bottles lie so close together that Burgundy- and Champagne-style bottles if placed side-by-side will pull out the neighboring bottles when removed.

Still, holds lots of bottles for very little money, not bad looking, and sturdy enough construction.

Mahogany Wine Rack
By Nashville Wine LoverVerified Purchaser from Nashville, TN on 11/20/2007
Pros:
Attractive Design, Efficient Use of Space, Good Capacity, Holds Bottles Securely
Cons:
Flimsy
Best Uses:
Several Bottles
Describe Yourself:
Practical
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The wires for installing on the back of the rack did not have the correct length nor the correct screws. The rack could stand to be a bit more sturdy as the wood is mahogany stained and not true mahogany. But good storage device for a closet, etc. for about 63 bottles.

We were looking for bulk storage yet on display in our great room. We ordered two 63 bottle racks, natural finish, and they work. The racks are sturdy, and since the design includes structural reinforcements, these are unlikely to sway or twist when fully loaded. As I titled this review, we got fair value, and to store roughly 55 bottles of wine per rack (the top shelf is unprotected and therefore largely unusable for us), we're satisfied with the price. Workmanship is typical of China. With four main vertical pieces, I was able to choose two for the front and two for the back. Same for the shelves - some clearly look better with one side facing outward. I had to renail a few pieces, but I was pleasantly surprised to find extra hardware, and I did need one piece. Assembly instructions were written by someone who speaks English. [...]

The shelves came in sets of two boxes in one and supports and hardware in another. Directions were clear. Only one or two philips head screwdrivers are need to assemble. The shelves look very nice in natural. They are sturdy and level and display wine very nicely.

Good but only for certain bottles
By egsVerified Purchaser from new york on 11/9/2007
Pros:
Efficient Use of Space, Good Capacity
Cons:
Bottles don't fit, Damages Labels
Best Uses:
Several Bottles, Wine Cellar Storage
Describe Yourself:
Bargain Hunter, Practical

I like the overall style of this piece for our basement wine cellar. However, some of our standard size wine bottles do not fit it it (they are too big for the slots). Some of these bottles are more rounded but are the standard size. Also, regular bottles are hard to get in and out of the slots and the labels get torn. Overall, the product needs to allow a little more room for the bottles.

Swedish Pine 63 Bottle Wine Rack Review
By JJVerified Purchaser from Cupertino, CA on 10/28/2007
Pros:
Attractive Design, Efficient Use of Space, Good Capacity, Holds Bottles Securely
Cons:
Poor Workmanship
Best Uses:
Bar Stock, Several Bottles
Describe Yourself:
Practical
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The design of the product is very good. However, the workmanship of the is not detailed where it had scratches, you can see that it is not evenly cut, screw hole was missing where I had to drill a hole, and the color of the rack is not so "pretty" mahogany. The color looks "cheap". I am assuming that these are being produced in China somewhere in mass scale where the producer is not looking into the detailed workmanship.
