No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Instructions seem to have no relation to the wine rack. Note that the shelves do NOT have predrilled holes. Since the wood is rather hard, this means that you'll have to get a drill and drill them before assembly. And despite what the instrux say, the holes in the side brackets are NOT angled, so you'll need a power screwdriver with a long Philips head to clear the brackets in order to screw in the shelves.
Extremely disappointing.
