I have ordered two of these for use in my home wine cellar. Neither one was accurate and the outside temperature feature works on neither.
To Wine Enthusiast's credit, they sent the second one free of charge, but neither worked and will be returned.

Wouldn't Buy Again
By bccdavidVerified Purchaser from Nebraska on 3/28/2008
Pros:
Easy to read
Cons:
Remote sensor doesn't wor
Best Uses:
Home Bar
Describe Yourself:
Frequent Entertainer, Practical

I like the display as I can see the temp and humidity read out from a distance. However, the outside temperature reader does not work on my model. I've decided to keep it (as I don't think it's worth the hassle to return and get another one), but it's not living up to what was advertised. I also read reviews that indicated others had the same problem. Sounds like it's not isolated to mine.

Perfectfully functional
By BuiltMyOwnCellarVerified Purchaser from Atlanta, GA on 3/19/2008
Pros:
Durable, Easy To Clean, Easy to Use
Best Uses:
Home wine cellar
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

When I finished construction on my wine cellar, I needed an independent measure on temperature, to double-check the cooling unit, as well as an indication of humidity. It's nice to have that peace of mind from an easy-to-use device. My only unmet wishes are that a) the thermometer/hygrometer was more attractive and b) the remote sensor read out humidity levels, too.

We bought two of them. One works.
By jimVerified Purchaser from lax on 2/19/2008
Pros:
Easy to Use

I have two wine coolers. I put one in each cooler. One of the gauges works great the other does not work. It just gives room temperature, not that of the cooler.

It seems to work just fine!
By Wine ClamperVerified Purchaser from San Carlos, CA on 1/22/2008
Pros:
Attractive Design, Durable, Easy to Use, Good size 4 small coolers
Cons:
Display is NOT 2 visable
Best Uses:
Home Bar
Describe Yourself:
Bargain Hunter, Frequent wine buyer, Practical
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

While the unit seems to work properly - it's purpose is somewhat defeated by having to open the cooler door everytime you want to read the display - even when it's a glass door!

Misleading Guage does not check humidity
By Wine EnthusiastVerified Purchaser from New York on 11/5/2007
Cons:
No Remote humidity
Describe Yourself:
Wine Connoisseur
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This guage has a remote which you can put inside the wine cellar. However the remote guage ONLY checks temperature. It reads out the temparature and the humidity with the main unit only. This is useless if the main unit is installed outside (best location) the wine cellar. The whole point of a remote is to read the cellar humidity and temprature without going into the cellar!!
