It is doing the job!
By BlackVerified Purchaser from New Port Richey, Florida on 6/16/2008
Pros:
Attractive Design, Energy Efficient, Precise Temperature
Cons:
Loud, Shelves are hard to slide, Space concerns
Best Uses:
Bar, Kitchen, Pantry
Describe Yourself:
Aspiring Enthusiast
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We are pleased with the consistent temperature this provides. However, the shelves are very difficult to slide in and out, which makes me very nervous when trying to access bottles in the back. The top shelf does not have enough room under the temp control/light for a bottle to fit - losing a few spaces. It could be a bit deeper to house "longer necked" whites. It is a bit loud when running. Otherwise, we are pleased.

50 bottles? Yeah, right...
By SPLVerified Purchaser from Carlsbad, CA on 4/28/2008
Pros:
Nice to look at
Cons:
Bottom shelf is terrible, Does not hold 50 bottles, Shelving is clumsy
Best Uses:
Basement, Kitchen, Pantry
Describe Yourself:
Aspiring Enthusiast
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

First and foremost, this is not a 50 bottle wine fridge. At best, it holds 48 750 ml bottles and two 375 ml bottles. The temperature display sticks out such that you can't fit two 750 ml bottles in the middle of the very top shelf. You can fit a couple of 375's in these spots, but that's it. Secondly, if you have any bottles that are even slightly larger or uniquely shaped, for example champagne bottles, forget it. They won't fit without taking out the shelf above it. Even with uniformly shaped 750 ml bottles, this fridge is squeezed extremely tight. The shelving is very clumsy and a pain to move around. The bottom shelf is completely worthless if you want access to the wine held here on a regular basis. If you're going to use this particular shelf, I suggest putting your age-worthy wine there and leaving it for a while. Otherwise, you'll scream from frustration every time you need to access it. So, if you're looking for a wine fridge from Wine Enthsiast that holds 50 bottles, you better buy a fridge advertised as holding 60 or 72 bottles. This is the first wine fridge I purchased so I guess I learned my lesson. Not sure if all wine fridges are built the same way, but I wouldn't buy another one without putting a bunch of bottles in first and checking out the shelving.

Don't Waste Your Money
By Wine GuyVerified Reviewer from Atlanta Georgia on 4/4/2008
Pros:
Attractive Design
Cons:
Loud, Shelves Not Functional
Best Uses:
Kitchen
Describe Yourself:
Aspiring Enthusiast
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Although the unit looks nice, it is noisy, and the shelves are not functional. Once the bottles are in place it is hard to remove them because the shelves do not slide. To remove a bottle, you must first lift the shelf, which is hard to lift because the bottles hit the shelf above due to lack of clearance. I have scratched and destroyed many labels trying to get my wine out of this unit. I can't believe the Wine Enthusiast would put their name on such a horrible product. My advice: pay the extra money for a wine refrigerator from a reputable manufacturer.

This refrigerator was so loud, it would wake us up at night when the cooling mechanism switched on, even though it was at the other end of the apartment, in the kitchen.

Shelves do not work?
By JakesterVerified Reviewer from San Diego on 2/2/2008
Pros:
Adjustable Shelving, Attractive Design
Cons:
Can Not Adjust Shelving
Best Uses:
Kitchen
Describe Yourself:
Aspiring Enthusiast
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This unit is just ridiculous. The shelves flex and when full cannot be moved. They are too close together and it simply does not work. I am amazed that Wine Enthusiast did not test this. They could not have. With standard bottles it is impossible to pull the shelves out. The top shelf cannot be filled either because it is obstructed in the center front and back bottle slot by the temperature control housing and light.

By KimVerified Purchaser from Arizona on 12/18/2007
Pros:
Adjustable Shelving, Attractive Design
Cons:
Loud, Shelving is stiff to move
Best Uses:
Kitchen, Pantry
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

We really liked this product. It was reasonably priced and quite attractive. It holds quite a bit of wine for the up and coming enthusiast. [...] I would recommend this product. Please note though that the unit was a little noisier than I thought it would be. The shelves were a bit stiff when moving in and out. Overall, a good purchase for the price.

Works for me!

Pros:
Adjustable Shelving, Attractive Design, Quiet
Best Uses:
Kitchen, Pantry
Describe Yourself:
Aspiring Enthusiast
Bottom Line:

Good value and design for my current modest needs. Temperature is accurate up top and drops about 6 degrees F. at the bottom which is good for a single zone unit and good for my red and white storage. A lock would have been beneficial as my 2 year old likes to check the wine frequently! Overall I am very satisfied.
