You have to remove the top shelf to add or remove bottles from the middle shelf. In addition, the lowest the temp will go is 50 degrees instead of 46. I would have returned it but I threw away the box

Very Disappointing
By Wine Folks from Georgia on 5/5/2008
Pros:
Attractive Design, Efficient Use of Space, Holds Bottles Securely
Cons:
Breaks, Inconsistent Temperature, Stopped Working
Best Uses:
In The Kitchen
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

We liked it for the first year and half we had it, but then, the temperature controller refused to control the temperature. We kept trying to set it at 58 degrees, but it started fluctuating everywhere (but still withing acceptable ranges). Then, the compressor started heaving and moaning, so we unplugged it...and just bought a new one.

The cooler has a great look and fits well on our countertop, but it needs to be much hardier.

We recently bought both a 16 bottle and 6 bottle wine cooler. When filling the 6 bottle cooler last evening, we noticed that the spacing between the shelves does not accommodate "standard" sized 750ML bottles. We took the shelves out, wiggled the bottles but to no avail. By standard, I am referring to bottle shapes like those of Kendall Jackson, Cake Bread Cellars.

Inconsistent Reliability, Innacurate Temperature
Best Uses:

The first one of these I ordered had to be replaced, as it worked for 48 hours and stopped [...]The one I have now varies temp from 68 to 54 degrees in a 24 hour period on a regular basis. If I want wine chilled, I need to reset the temp prior to serving. This is OK for me, since I am only an occasional drinker, but folks who like to have a chilled bottle of wine on hand at all times may want to consider another product.

Vaguely stainless steel-like
By DonVerified Purchaser from Seattle on 2/12/2008
Pros:
Quiet
Cons:
Unattractive Design

We ordered the version with a stainless steel door in the hope that it would blend in with other appliances and, unfortunately, it did not. It looked more like chromed plastic than brushed stainless.

On the plus side, once the unit got to temperature it was essentially silent. I had to lean over and put my ear next to the back in order to hear it running.

Stainless steel or Chrome???
By Picky Rick?Verified Purchaser from Greensboro, NC on 1/8/2008
Pros:
Attractive Design, Fits under most Cabinets, Quiet
Cons:
Finish looks like chrome
Best Uses:
Under Kitchen Cabinets
Describe Yourself:
Casual Taster
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Seems to work fine so far. Temp hangs around 47 deg. in my kitchen. Nice shape with no protruding handles or parts.
My only complaint is that I'm disappointed in the stainless steel color. It's more like a dull or hazed chrome.
It does not match any of my stainless steel appliances as I hoped it would. Maybe you should advertise as "highly reflective polished stainless look".

Bought this as a gift for my daughter and son-in-law. They live in a small condo and do not have a lot of counter space. This fits perfect. Since they are just starting out into the wonderful world of wines, a 6 bottle refrigerator is just right.

This is the fifth wine cooler that I have owned. All the others, including two Cuisinarts, were returned because they either failed or made excessive noise.
This one is just right and fits into the kitchen space under the prep table.

Silent Cooling at its best!
By Steve the HawkVerified Reviewer from Wayne, PA on 11/18/2007
Pros:
Attractive Design, Durable, Easy to Use
Best Uses:
Home Bar
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I bought this unit for my girlfriend and you can't really hear it at all. She put it on the floor in her apartment bedroom with nothing around it. It looks great. I believe she's looking for another place for it, but for now it looks pretty good where it sits with the LED light on constantly. Pretty attractive.

I did a lot of research before buying this fridge. I was a little afraid of buying something I did not see in person, but the Wine Enthusiast made me feel like they would deliver a great product and they have. The issue I saw most when reseaching was how cold a wine fridge should keep wine. This fridge, and others like it keep the wines COOL as wine is meant to be chilled, not real cold. She keeps the temperature around 50 degrees and its perfect right out of the fridge. She also just keeps her whites in it. The fridge fits a basic bottle so no worries there. Obviously a small fridge like this doesnt fit one of those enormous bottles.

This fridge is perfect for someone who drinks wine regularly but doesnt want to build a huge collection just yet or just wants a few backup wines just in case you have a party.

One thing is that open wine bottles may drip, as the directions in the box tell you not to put open bottles back into it. If you put the cork back in tight enough, I don't know that it matters, but look out for the possibility of dripping.....not the fridge's fault!

Overall I would buy a Silent fridge again and absolutely recommend it. I am extremely satified with this product!
