I'm glad I purchased this.
I've tried to get happy with this refrigerator over several months, but I just can't get past it. The shelves are too close together on this unit. Bottles of cab and sauv blanc fit fine, but forget about the typical-sized chard and pinot bottles. When sliding the shelves in and out, the bottles rub on the shelf above and the labels get scraped. The metal shelves are cheap and the welds don't all hold together well. You would think that with "one side holds whites and one side holds reds," that the unit would be made to fit typical chard bottles. You would be wrong, my friend. Given the cost of the refrigerator and shipping, this unit absolutely sucks. I am disappointed with my purchase and I will not purchase from the Wine Enthusiast again. When my friends ask how I like the refrig, I say "No way, Jose."
It doesn't take up a lot of space, yet stores a lot of wine at the perfect temperature.
Great storage for vintage wines that you want to keep and age to perfection.
I like this but it must be level or it is very noisy. Also, mine alarms daily-a beep for several minutes. [...] If I adjust the temp up it stops but this is aggravating. Any ideas? thanks, cj
We have had this fridge for almost a year, It worked fine until recently. The temperature on one side then both sides would get down to the 55 degree setting. The unit also seemed louder too.
Then we discovered the dust screens covering the four fans in the back were coated with dust. A quick vacuuming got ours back to the right temperature and quiet again.
A second maintenance chore is to occasionally dump the water from the tray at the back of the inside of the unit. To do this you must remove the wine from the bottom two shelves. In discovered this when water appeared in the bottom of the unit.
About the quietness, we find ours completely acceptable. It's not silent, but it is in our family room in a raised cabinet that used to hold a TV (we have a flat screen on another wall now). I sit next to it most of the time and don?t notice the sound.
On the negative side, the thermostat hangs down from the top and severely limits the size of bottles the shelf can hold. We use it for half bottles and narrow full size bottle that we can squeeze in after pulling the shelf out to insert the bottle.
Many bottles we buy just barely fit in the shelves. Sometimes the labels get scraped and its tough to slide the shelves in and out. This is true of all the shelves except the very bottom or floor of the unit which has plenty of space.
This is the second wine chiller I have purchased from Wine Enthusiast and again I am completely satified.
The product is attractive...was received in a timely fashion....and most importantly helps me care for my favorite wines!
I am thinking of purchasing an additional unit to keep in my store room!
Pros: very attractive, very quiet, holds temperature accurately.
Cons: shelves very tightly spaced, will not hold anything slightly wider or longer than standard 750 ml without removing shelves. Temperature control plate hangs in front of top shelf making it very difficult to get bottles in there.
A lot of noise when full. The only time it is quier is when it is only half full.
I bought two of these units. Neither is as quiet as advertised. When they are full the fan never goes off. If they were not in closets behind closed doors, I would have returned them. The only time they are "silent" as advertised is when they are only half full. Think twice before buying.
[...]Overall, this product is quiet and looks stunning. This is my first wine refrigerator, so this is the only benchmark that I have to go by. The shelves are a little tight even for the regular sized bottles. I have resorted to using the top shelf for dessert wines to compensate for the lack of space for regular size bottles, not a real big deal though.
I read all the previous reviews on this fridge before I made the purchase, so I was well aware of the tight rack space and the possible damage during shipping. As it turned out, both of those problems did occur, just as the reviewers described. I don't mind too much about the former, as I could just remove a few racks to make space for large-sized bottle; [...] So I had to call Wine Enthusiast for an exchange, which they quickly put through the replacement order without hassle. The replacement came in much better condition. I only found one small piece of broken plastic that I wasn't sure from what part of the fridge, so I readily signed the delivery paperwork. It's been 5 days since I got the fridge, and so far I am pretty happy with it. It is very quiet and temperature is within 1 degree of my thermometer. It is not particularly well constructed, but given the price, I can't really complain about it. I still think this is probably the best dual-temp wine cooler in this price range; and for someone who lives in a small condo like I do, this is a good choice. Just make sure you do a thorough inspection of the fridge before you sign delivery paperwork and let the delivery guy go (which I didn't do when I received the first one).
Overall the look of the frig is great and fits perfectly for the area I needed it to. However, the shelves are too small to fit bottles in without having to push them through which then damages the labels. The top shelf is too small for bottles also. I had to have this delivered twice becuase of dents all over the piece. I would suggest this to people who have the money to spend but once you get it, it feels like it's only worth a couple hundred not [$]. My most important reason of liking it is the look and the dual temps.
This product sits in our dining room which is open to our living room. We can never hear it and it looks beautiful sitting next to our other furniture. When reading the other reviews I was looking for several things in particular: locks on the doors, steady temperature control, stainless steel, and quality made racks. Many of the reviews said that the racks were a big con but it all depends on your favorite wine choice. It fits regular wine bottles very well and the bottom will hold a couple of larger bottles. The racks also don't feel like they will break if you touch them. Although the picture of the cooler shows it's all stainless steel it is correct in it's written description of only having stainless steel doors and handles.
It's held the temperature of our wine very steady and because we have grandchildren, the locks come in handy. On top of everything wonderful, and after countless months of shopping around, this was the wine cooler of choice. It is DEFINITELY the BEST BUY in its class!
This unit is not as quiet as the similar smaller unit half it's size. It won't hold some wine bottles that I wouldn't consider oversized. I've had to remove some shelving to accommodate them so it holds less than advertised, and it sure won't hold champagne bottles on the shelves.
The cooler is nice, [...]the instructions for installing the door handles was non-existent.We had a major party the next day and returning the unit was out of the question[...] and since it was to be put in the basement wine cellar, it was acceptable.I would not buy anything else on-line with this company [...]Better off buying this type of item locally.
The cooler is great for under the counter wine storage. Dual temp zones are perfect for separating reds and whites.
Your advertising does not make it clear that the unit only takes one size bottle in order to get 48 bottles in unit.
The shelves are just about big enough to get the bottles in and out! The top row needs to have very special bottles that are slim enough.
This unit will not hold 48 regular size bottles. The top shelf is all but unusable due to the thermostat hanging down. It was delivered missing a screw for the hinge which I purchaced at the hardware store. The price was inexpensive and it whows in the fit and finish. However it will keep 40 bottles of wine refrigerated.
I love this refrigerator! It is very quite. The dual tempature is perfect for reds and whites. Each door locks separately so you can have a "do not touch" side for your special bottles. The one con: it is hard to place a bottle on the top shelf behind the digital temperature screen.
The documentation that comes with the unit should be edited for English. It also doesn't mention in the instructions that the door handles need to be screwed on nor that the water catcher needs to be emptied periodically. I have found that I need to empty water out nearly every day in a room that meets the temperature range for the device and has a low humidity. In order to do this you have to pull out a shelf and the bottles that are on it. It is not a fun task. If you don't do this the water container overflows and water leaks out of the unit onto the floor.
In addition the shelves are too close together to fit most standard size bottles, so the true capacity is much less than 48. Also, the temperature panel is too large and restricts use of the top shelves resulting in a loss of 6 bottles.
With a little more attention to design detail this would be a nice unit.
My chardonnay and/or pinot bottles don't fit. Plastic shelf stops broke off almost immediately.
Great unit. Just what we were looking for.
Attractive product, however, pullout shelves are "sticky" and need lubricants; stops for pullout shelves are flimsy and easily broken.

The unit is quiet and attractive. However, the shelves are not adjustable so the advertised 48 bottle capacity has been reduced to 24 bottles for me. I have had to remove every other shelf to permit me to store sparkling wine and even some regular whites and reds.
This is a good option for two temperatures cellar. It's beatiful and it has a very good price. But it is not silent enough, it's never completely quiet. It takes to much time to get the lowest temperatures, and it's so dificult to place the bottles in the shelves, specially in the top shelf behind the digital display.
The two temperature zones and ultra-quiet operation make this a wonderful unit. I am very sensitive to noise, so I'm happy to report that most of the time it is completely silent, other times you have to be within a few feet to hear only the slight hum. The temperature holds so steady I placed a trusted thermometer inside to check?it really does hold the temperature very well. Note: I've had the unit for a month now.
One drawback is that the shelves are spaced to hold Bordeaux-sized bottles, so even with the pinot noirs, I have to remove the shelf above so they fit. The other issue is power consumption. But since most wine refrigerators have both of these issues, they should not be seen as cons against this model.
The main reason I give this less than 5 stars is the lack of an all-stainless option, other than that it's perfect.

Unfortunately the unit stop working on one side after only using it for 2 weeks. The right side was registering up to 80 degrees!

We are using it for at-home storage of our 2006 products
All is fine [...]
The Double Doors do not align very well. I could not fix. However, the refrig. still keeps the seal and a constant temperature.
Very dissapointed when we got this product. The temperature range for both sides is 50-66 degrees. The ideal temperature for a bottle of white is 45 degrees and the shelves do not fit chardonnay or reisling bottles. It is not at all designed for whites.
I've got this in my kitchen and it really looks like it was meant to be. People don't always notice it even though it is almost as high as the counter top.
It works great though I would like it better if there was a slightly larger temperature range. The low end isn't quite as cool as I prefer for whites which is why I only gave it a 4 out of 5. But all in all it works great! I love the style and how quiet it is. You never hear it.
