Very, Very, Disappointed
By The Executives...Verified Purchaser from Anchorage, Alaska on 3/2/2008
Pros:
dual zone cooling, Quiet
Cons:
Can Not Adjust Shelving, Does not Hold 54 Bottles, Pull-out Shelves don't, Too Small
Best Uses:
Kitchen
Describe Yourself:
Aspiring Enthusiast
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This unit is installed in our kitchen area. We removed a perfectly fine wine under-the-cabinet unit, thinking that this cellar would be superior. We were wrong. As it turns out, this cellar is not as advertised. Even with juggling wine bottle sizes to optimize storage (a hassle all of its own)....this wine cellar only holds 42 BOTTLES! That is less than our prior unit held. The images on the marketing materials mislead customers. There is no way for any size wine bottles to fit onto this shelf design in the perfectly even, orderly way shown in the marketing materials. The images are simply a lie.And the pull-out shelves are a joke! They don't even pull out far enough for one to SEE the label on the "reverse loaded" bottles, let alone READ them.I do not foresee ever ordering another Wine Enthusiast product....or ever recommending your company to a friend or associate.[...]Enough is enough!

My wife and I choose the 54 bottle twin door design because we like the functionality of two temperature controls for reds and whites. We have owned our Danby wine refrig for six months now and it has been inoperative for three of those months. The temperature control feature does not work properly on either side and Danby's customer service department explains that a temperature variance of 8 degrees, plus or minus, is acceptable. Wrong answer!!! When you set the temperature for reds at 62 degrees, you should not expect the resultant temperature to be 70 degrees on the high side or 54 degrees on the low side. Of course in our case, the low ended up being 32 degrees, cold enough to freeze the water in the plastic humidifier. [...]

Elegant Look for Built In Cabinets
By hoopVerified Purchaser from Springfield, VA on 11/8/2007
Pros:
Attractive Design, Easy Installation, Precise Temperature
Best Uses:
Kitchen, Pantry
Describe Yourself:

Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I purchased this unit as part of a kitchen remodeling project. It is sized perfectly for installation with standard kitchen cabinet sizes. It has become the attractive centerpiece of our new kitchen and receives consistent praises from neighbors and friends. If used for 54 bottles, the fit is very tight both horizontally and vertically. It takes a little care to insert and remove bottles without damaging the door gaskets. It is almost impossible to identify a wine without completely removing it from the unit. For the size, it may have been better to design it for 40 bottles. Regardless of the tight bottle fit, I am very pleased with the unit and show it off at every possible opportunity.
