No, I would not recommend this to a friend
I use it to store wine in the short term (3 to 6 months). Design require larger format bottles to be positioned up-right which can lead to the cork drying. If I had it to do over I would have gone with a more flexible system.

Unfortunately, for those who would like to age red wine, the thermostat is not as sensitive as it should be and/or the unit is insufficiently insulated. Its very hard to keep the temperature range on this unit within 15 degrees.
