We needed a small wine cellar to house a few bottles upstairs so we don't have to continually go to the basement for a bottle of wine. This piece fits our decorating style, and is pretty enough to put in our dining room. It makes no noise at all, and keeps the wine at a nice temperature. The small storage space on top is perfect for corkscrews, foil cutters, wine charms and all of the rest of our wine "paraphernalia"!

Great frig but smelly

Very quiet and looks good. Can't recommend because after 2 months I can't get the smell of stain or whatever from the top comparment out. I called customer service and was told that the smell was most likely the stain on the furniture and recommended a box of baking soda. Well, 2 months later and 4 boxes of baking soda the horrible smell lingers!!! Anything stored in the top comparment smells bad too!

Overall, a great piece of furniture. My only complaint is that the storage area above the wine cooler portion of the unit is not tall enough for standard liquor bottles.

Functionally great - aesthetically so-so
By Pinot FanVerified Purchaser from Princeton NJ on 1/26/2008
Pros:
Attractive Design, Large capacity, Precise Temperature, Quiet
Cons:
Finish not high end, Only certain bottles fit
Best Uses:
Kitchen, Unsuitable for living rm
Describe Yourself:
Aspiring Enthusiast
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

It suits my needs for keeping whites and reds ready to drink; is large enough for wide variety of wines and temperatures seem appropriate. Was disappointed that the wood finish was not high end and the details of the piece were not as expected. Wanted to use it in our living room but it seems more appropriate for a kitchen.
