The Merlot diameter is a bit large for small hands. The Cabernet would be better.

We use the as everyday aand as entertaining glasses. The go through the dishwasher with no problem.

No problem with shelving.

We gave these glasses to our son for Christmas. He enjoys entertaining and he had requested redwine glasses on his Santa list. Our son was delighted with the feel and shape of the glasses. They are fun to give and fun to own. They will work well as brandy glasses, red wines & water glasses for dinner parties when dragging out serious crystal is not a young gentleman's style.

The glasses are easier to hold than other stemless glasses. The wine reflects in the base and looks good!

Quality of glass is superb!! Handling???
By Barbara the InnovatorVerified Purchaser from Fenton MO on 12/24/2007
Pros:
Attractive Design, enhances wine tastes etc
Cons:
awkward to hold, Difficult to Clean, Too Delicate
Best Uses:
personal day to day
Describe Yourself:
Practical, Stylish

not dishwasher safe, must he aware/not casual with the handling of the glass...drinking from/cleaning etc. Great quality of the glass itself, LUV the thin rim....the 'ping'
of crystal. Most of all, the wine just tastes
elegant from this glass.

too thin and fragile!
By vinoVerified Purchaser from charlotte, NC on 12/21/2007
Cons:
Too Delicate
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

we tried this for ease of cleanup without long stems that often result in unstable glassware and inefficent loading of dishwasher. However, the function for drinking is poor as you must hadle by the glass bowl warming your wine and smudging the glass. Also, the glass is too thin as one of the glasses broke just from thermal changes while unloading the dishwasher approximately 4 hours after drying (so the dishes had plenty of time to cool). The glass broke on the top rack while we were across the room and inspection of the fragments revealed wafer thin pieces. Definitely NOT RECOMMENDED!
