I first experienced a Riedel stemless wine glass while wine-tasting on the Central Coast of California ("Sideways" territory). I fell in love with it. It was delicate and lightweight to the touch, but made of sturdy, lead-free crystal. The stemless design puts one in intimate, sensuous contact with the glass -- and the wine contained in it. I love the different glass designs for each type of wine. My collection, so far, includes 5 types of wine glass. I use them for any and all occasions, from formal to informal.
