I give these as gifts.
Although they are deemed as "champagne flutes", they can be used for wine too. The design is attractive and comfortable to hold as there is more area to grasp. This is a plus for men. As far as other comments about difficulty cleaning, just use a bottle brush. The only real negative I can think of is because this glassware is stemless, your hand temperature may quickly warm up the drink versus holding a traditional champagne glass by the stem. Also, they look more like a pilsner glass than a champagne flute, so a stemmed champagne flute is more desirable for wedding toasts, etc. You can't beat the price though.
If you're looking for dainty light-as-air flutes, pass. I like a slightly heavy glass that feels good in your hands; not something I have to be careful with. That said, I also like it to be stylish and pleasing to look at not blocky or clumsy. Kudos to Riedel on getting this right.
Really makes the sparckly look great in the glass, and improves flavor.
I loved the design of this stemless champagne glass and also like the Riedel Cabernet/Merlot stemless glasses that I own. Was disappointed to find the champagne glasses not as thin and delicate as the other wine glasses. Would not have ordered six of them had I known.
