Although the stem mat permits air drying of wine glasses, it leaves water marks along rim of glass where silicon fingers hold glass in place.

I saw this in Wine Enthusiast and looked other places for one that was less expensive. With shipping and handling it, it was more than I wanted to spend but I am glad that I ordered it. I'll keep looking for something similar somewhere else.

water vapor accumulates in the bowl of the inverted glass--and water settles around the rim, leaving a cloudy line on the rim, even when I use the wine glass cleaner. I had better results leaving glasses to dry on two stacked terrycloth dishtowels.

Even if the glasses sit overnight, they are not dry. The "fingers" in the mat hold water & does not allow the glass to dry. The rim of the Riedel glasses are wet & must be hand dried.

No more putting wine glasses in the dish drainer and praying that something will fall on them and break the glasses. Useful to drain more than just wine glasses.

Doesn't hold the glasses up so that air can circulate underneath. Just doesn't do what is advertised. Would NEVER buy if I knew how poorly it works to dry glasses!
Poorly designed and did not work

This mat does not allow air circulation to enter the glasses so they fog up while the water pools on the surface of the mat. Very poorly designed and ineffective. Most of the other things I've ordered have worked great so this was a disappointment.

My husband and I have a friend that had a similar product and loved the concept to keep our wine glasses from getting those annoying spots while drying. I still think this is a great concept. The problem with this product is the material it is made out of. It is too flimsy. If the spikes that are suppose to hold the glasses up to allow air flow were made of a stronger material, I think it would work wonderfully.
Not as wonderful as I thought it would b

The mat did not do a great job of drying. The next day my glasses were still wet at the rim, necessitating drying them manually anyway.
Does the trick as advertised!

This mat doesnt work for "normal" glasses. The so called silicone "fingers" are much to thin so the rim of the glass just sits in beteen the fingers and is not elevated. As a result its just like putting the glass on a flat silicone mat without any air circulation to effect drying.

This mat is so cool, I've ordered several to give to my wine glass friends - and it's use is not just for wine, either! Looks good and delicate on the counter - very attractive. Just wish the water drained (or dried)off of the pad.

Bought the mat thinking this would solve the wine glass problem for those glasses I don't deem dishwasher worthy, however I am very disappointed. The glasses don't dry quickly and even after leaving them overnite, they are still moist inside.
