No, I would not recommend this to a friend
This unit stopped working after less than 2 years. When I called WhisperKool they offered to sell me another refurbished unit (no doubt from some poor other person whose unit had stopped working). Since then I have heard from others that have had theirs break as well. DO NOT BUY WHISPERKOOL.

I am cooling a 800sq/ft room with the 4200. It is very loud and can hear it in the next room, and on the whole west wing of the house. I should have got a split system. Good only if it vents to the exterior wall of the house, but the climate I live in is too hot during the summer. I had it vent to the area next to the wine room. I can't wait for this to die to get a split system.
