Wine bottles stored on the upright display shelf in front measured 65 degrees, while the thermometer display read 54 degrees. The manufacturer does warn you of temperature variability, but this is ridiculous. BTW, it's not like the fridge is in a warm place: it's in my basement, w/ an ambient temperature of 68 degrees, pretty much constant. This is a spill-over unit for my Sub-Zero main unit and the Sub-Zero keeps true temperature. I guess you get what you pay for. You are better off keeping wines in the vegetable drawer of fridge.
I'm a new wine enthusiast looking for a cost effective way to store my recently obtained Napa wine. This unit works perfectly for me. After reading other reviews I went with the larger unit to be on the safe side and it's already full. It's very quiet, attractive and it keeps the temperature consistent. The bottom shelf and front display works great for larger bottles or even champagne.
Good use of the internal space, and it is much quieter than we expected. The curved door adds just enough extra to make it useful for stand up storage, although odd bottle shapes have a little problem finding a home.
We're very satisfied with the unit.
Exceptionally quiet unit. Very nice to look at and does a great job maintaining correct temperatures. The display door is an excellent feature.
We decided to buy two, one for red and one for white. So we use them side by side. The vino view is quiet and the lights are attractive. Having the digital temperature is great and there is plenty of room for storing wine for get-togethers. Only thing that is missing is having a log to record your wines, so add that to your shopping list.
I just bought this fridge. It's the perfect size, and it holds so many bottles. Very quite when operating. Delivery was perfect. Not a scratch.
The Vinoview Silent 35 is perfect for someone that needs storage for 30 bottles or less. You could get 35 in there, technically, but the configuration for that is awkward...30 bottles fit easily and accessibility is not a problem...no fridge is truly silent but this one is as quiet as I can imagine one being...the design is attractive and the display door is great. The temperature options are limited, but that's why I say this is perfect for a small, new or specific collector...if you love wine but are not ready to store hundreds of bottles, this would be a great starter unit that provides enough style and functionality to suit most tastes.
Looks great, is very quiet and fits wine and champagne bottles with ease. Removeable shelving is a huge plus. Ordered this unit to replace the 18 bottle "Silent Wine Refrigerator" we received as a gift (the thermostat bit the dust after less than a year - good thing for warranties!). The VinoView is MUCH quieter in comparison, looks more attractive (which we were not sure of from the online pics) and is very sturdy with great construction. Proud to have it in our home. The horizontal bottle display is great for displaying, but a little awkward when you want to get at one of the bottles behind it. Not really an issue for us though.
I bought this to cool our white wines but now I think this was meant for red wines but it doesn't advertise for red wines exclusively. The minimum temperature is 54 degrees which does not seem cool enough for our white wines.
Love this refrigerator - very quiet and looks great!
I have 2 eurocaves and this unit. I currently have about 800 bottles so this unit is for my everyday stuff but I still wish it locked. I have kids.
my wife felt it wasn't suitable for the main dinning area, where our wine rack is located,
After researching several different wine refrigerators at this price point, the VinoView Silent was the clear choice for us. The functionality of this refrigerator is what makes it so appealing. We love being to open a bottle of wine and when we're finished, place the opened bottle back in the door to enjoy again later.
I was unsuccessful (twice) ingetting a properly functioning unit [...] Both times the light function did not work properly - and too bad because I really liked that I could store open bottles in this unit. I was even willing to keep the unit for a discount on the purchase price but customer service would not allow this. I am truly disappointed and probably will not recommend this unit or purchasing from wine enthusiast again.
This thing is sooooo quiet. Love the lights and the semi-circular door for open bottels. You can't miss with this. I even placed my cigars on the very top skinny shelf inside. It's perfect for the small number of bottles I need. Does it hold a perfect 35 bottles, no, so the number of 30 works for me. Word to the wise...always buy bigger if you want bigger and need it! I don't.
I like the place for bottle to stand up in the door. It works great if you did not finish a bottle and want to keep it. The thermostat is in a bad location, it blocks the place for 2 bottles. I found a way to fill up the 2 places by sliding a bottle over from the opening.
I am disappointed that the temperature doesn't go down to 50 degrees or less, which is where I like my bottles kept.
Unit is not noisy, but it's not "silent" either.
My wife wanted to get a wine fridge for our collection to empty out some closet space and after checking for a nice size refrigerator this one was the only choice. I wanted to put it in a niche in the kitchen. This utilized a small space, is quiet and looks great.
We have this wine fridge installed in a pretty tight space and it remains cool with ventilation at the top and bottom. Runs quietly and does a good job cooling red wine to the proper temp.
The ability to easily store opened bottles of wine is what sold us. It's great.
Love the display door!
ATTRACTIVE STORAGE AT THE PROPER TEMPERATURE
I am extremely disappointed that i can not lower the temperature below 54
Boyfriend loved it. Very attractive. Will recommend to everyone who is getting started.
Great wine cooler. Very nice design, but slightly pricey for a twenty bottle cooler. Accurate temperature. The LED lights are beautiful and there is a switch on the inside AND the bottom of the door to turn them off for all those who think you can't turn off the lights!! Read the manual!! Overall, very nice cooler!
Very Nice Wine Display Refrigerator! I could hardly wait to fill it up. Hold 20 bottles very neatly and I can display 4 of my favorites in the glass door with the "surround" lighting...
The 1st thing husband said was it has no compressor. I said its quiet (and it is). Bought to avoid temp. swings. In pantry winter temp is 40 or so. Have machine set at 64, it reads 54 right now. What will summer temp of 90 in pantry do. Will wine remain at 64 that I've set? Time will tell. But it is quiet. I would recommend this as others keep their pantry at more normal temps.
The attractively designed door and lighting make this product suitably located almost anywhere in the house. Their is a light button below the door and next to the temperature display too.
There is a little fan hum noise but no more then a desk top computer
This cooler is worth the price [$]. It provides refrigerated storage for about 20 bottles of wine, but you can also put other beverages in it, too. The cooler has constant LED's that provide a blue light that showcases the wine bottles on display - a nice effect. One of the best features of the cooler is that it is always pleasant to open new bottles of wine and have the wine pre-cooled. Lastly, the cooler maintains the wines so that they do not deteriorate before you drink them. This had been a problem in our home, when in the past, very expensive bottles of wine had started to sour on our wine rack.
Just opened it a few days ago but so far so good!
We love the design, very attractive. The lighting around the door is beautiful!
Overall we love it.
The only minor drawbacks for us are:
-the shelves don't slide very smoothly when full
-the interior fan takes away from the bottle space, so you have to place shorter bottles on that shelf
Eventually we would like to see this design in a larger size...
Attractive useful product. Needs switch to turn off lighting.
The concept of having a chiller for open bottles is very appealing. This execution is poor quality, too bulky and feeble.
We use the Silent 20 to cool to 57 degF (for near term consumption) a selection of wines from our main cellar, which is maintained at 63-73 degF (w/o A/C). The main reason for choosing the 20 was to be able to store our half-consumed bottles upright at 57 vs. 35 degF -- since the two of us normally drink only half a bottle a day. Although the instructions say there can be a 7 degF spread between the center and btm or top, I measured less than a degree, probably because the fan runs continuously (maybe they meant 0.7 degF). That's why it's quiet but not silent. When chilling, it's a bit louder, but not bad. We thought the door lights were going to stay on continuously, until I happened to feel a slide switch below the door -- the instructions don't mention that, only the inside light button. The fridge is 22.6" deep, so I need to make a bigger shelf (18" or more for the feet) in our pantry to hold it. Also, don't expect to put it on a countertop in the 18" space under a typical wall cabinet -- it's 20" high. So, if you have a good spot for it, it's a great "little" wine fridge.
This is the first refrigerator I purchased, and I love it. It fit perfect in my kitchen.
The internal lights are very nice, but I would like the opportunity to turn them off. I don't need them on all the time and if it were in a room where I may not want something lit; the opportunity to turn them off would be nice.
Ability to stand bottles upright is a plus. the lights on the door have no off switch, which could be annoying if the unit is placed in the wrong setting. Noisy heat exhaust fan takes the silent out of the name. This however runs rarely after initial cool down. I would recommend the unit subject to the above reservations.
