From previous experience I have found that leather straps used to hang things outside exposed to the weather are not durable for more than one year. So I would suggest that you substitute a synthetic strap that you might find at your local shoe repair or hardware store. This is a small quibble, but worthwhile doing since this slate sign is so well crafted & attractive that it is worth the time takes to replace the leather strap with one that will stand up to the elements.
