I havn't had much experience with other decanters so I can't make direct comparisons but I can say that this really aerates the wine quickly. It's easy enough to use and the sight of the wine cascading down the sides of the carafe is pretty cool.
As for cleaning, as long as you rinse it soon after use, you can probablyskip the soap. It takes a full 24 hours or so to completely dry but I haven't noticed any odors forming as a result.

We like the look. Is somewhat hard to clean. Nice presentation piece. Pay attention when pouring. Could seem heavy to some. Purchase the drying stand, you will not regret it.

It has a beautiful design and the wine flows elegantly from the filter along the sides of the decanter - makes for a really neat effect. The only downside is that after pouring into glasses it tends to drip, and I'm sure it would be easier to clean with the brush set (next on my want list). Other than that it's a wonderful addition to my wine decor and makes the wine taste great!

Overall we really like this product. It hasn't been as tough to clean as most say, we just put hot water and soap in it and swish it around a lot. This seems to work fine. The trouble we are having is getting it to dry. We didn't buy the drying stand, but instead just set it upside down in our dish drying rack so air can easily get in. It never completely dries. There are always a few drops still sitting in the bottom. I have to take the cleaning brush that came with it and use it to dry it out, but even that doesn't work great. Other than this, it's a great product. It doesn't seem like it would break easily. It is heavy, but we don't mind that.

This decanter is gorgeous and aerates beautifully. It's only flaw is in the pouring. It takes a steady very STRONG hand!

This decanter works great. It has a wide mouth that easily fits a funnel and makes pouring a breezing. The wide base makes is secure on the table and gives the wine lots of room to breathe. It makes a noticable difference in the wine. Definitely get the glass stopper to go with it though. My only minor quibble is the wide lip makes it prone to drips.

Clearly works if even me, not a wine expert, can taste the difference. It is hard to pour last glass, but I think it is a price of design that really works and I am willing to pay it. I wish it came with not only an aerator and filter but also a cork or a vacum pump.

This product was a great buy for us. I bought it for my boyfriend, but I like it just as much now. It's very lightweight and easy to handle, and easily fits a bottle of wine inside. It's also a very classic design, so it went with our wine glasses effortlessly. The one thing I think would have been helpful at first was to have a drying stand ready. It's rather hard to clean, and dry out fully without one.
